orienteering race 9:55 [5] 2.3 km (4:19 / km)
shoes: addidas adizero

big foot sprunt "qualifier". good practice for orienteering early in the morning and qual races, two things i need to improve. felt sick in the tummy (probably from eating too much lentil curry yesty) but had good speed and only had one bad route choice.

got myself into the hotseat for the chasing start, 20sec ahead of ezy who wasnt far ahead of Josh "jeg vill har mer daim" Blatchford.

orienteering race 10:15 [5] 2.2 km (4:40 / km)

sprunt final. was sketching out early on the first few controls and definately lost time there but settled down into the nice set of technical controls despite missing some quick routes. saw ezy leaving a control so fanged it across the open and was knackerd into the finish.

really enjoyed this event. a good mix of club event, high pressure training and O-intervals. have lots to work on but hey its the off season, all orienteering is recreational until after xmas 5.

Note

been really lazy recently. i was planning on running every second day in october with cross training on the other days, but my injuries havent liked coming home and i have no bikes at the moment so cross training is fairly limited. hopefully i will be able to get a better prognosis on monday after doctor pressure sorts me out. im really sick of worrying about how my legs will feel at the outset of every run, and thinking back its been like that since JWOC last year nearly.

plenty of warm up and warm down, with 10 minutes of 1min hard 1min easy in between (lakes entrance). felt really bad. luckily i have a physio appointment monday
