orienteering race 17:05 [4] 1.5 km (11:23 / km)

Forest Sprint Set-up on Camore Town map. Fun short sprint. Went at the end as was helping at the start, so not too many other runners around to distract me.

orienteering race 31:31 [4] 2.7 km (11:40 / km) +110m 9:42 / km

Chase race and Canmore Nordic Centre. Great course. Had a major mistake at #8 where I failed to notice the major trail on the map right next to the control and got really confused. Lost over a minute standing, watching people punch the control, which I thought wasn't mine, because it was just beyond this trail.

orienteering race 46:17 [4] 3.7 km (12:31 / km) +180m 10:04 / km

Thomass event. Canmore Nordic Centre. Legs tired after morning's exploits and lots of climb on this course. Couldn't keep up, especially during the first half of the race, which had most of the climb. Second half felt better (flat and downhill). Fun race. Handicapping seemed to work really well.

Walk with Anne on ravine pathway.

orienteering race 1:00:00 [2]

Urban-O in Canmore. A big game of Clue. Did this with the boys and had a lot of fun. It was quite hard to get the place, but had a lucky guess at the end.

orienteering 1:02:00 [3]

Shadowed Adeline on a score course at Kettle Lake, Cranbrook. Luckily for me some of the controls were advanced, otherwise she would have left me in the dust. Good warm-up.

orienteering race 1:26:00 [4] 3.9 km (22:03 / km)

Challenging and fun course. It seemed a lot longer than it was. There were a lot of steep hills. This threw me a bit on the first leg as the map was printed 1:7500 so the hills didn't look as steep as they actually were. Had a few clean controls and a few bad legs (quite confused at #1, almost over-ran #3 badly, but luckily caught sight of Eileen behind me. Got very confused on #13 and didn't follow my first plan well at all, then didn't follow my adjusted plan well either. Legs were feeling this on the way home (which involved an almost 7hr long traffic hold-up on Hwy 93 near the border - it was starting to be daylight when we eventually got home. Poor Jonathan had been worrying half the night - couldn't contact him til after they opened the road up as no cell phone coverage there.
