Clean into control 1 and then drifted right on the way to 2. correct when i got to the spur before it. Managed to shake my tail i had picked up at control 1. Slightly left into 3 but picked up the rocks south of control and located the flag. mismatched some features coming into the control circle for four so lost a minute or so rematching features. Clean into control 5 and then struggled to spot 6 in all the head high bush. picked up Vanessa SC at this point and we had a good tussle into 7 and then 8 on the long leg. I got to the circle first but got sucked into Vanessa going high but i manged to relocate and punch the control first. Pulled left to 9 but lost only 20secs. Came in too low to 10 and lost 45 secs. Beat Vanessa to 11 and then decided to do something different and went wide to the track to get to 12. Realised i could have made an error on my decision but as i swung in to hit my attackpoint Vanessa popped up in front of me so i had made up time. Lost her as i nailed the entry into 12 but i lost the lead at 13 when i was within 3m of the control but couldn't see it for the bush. Slightly left into 14 and then close to 15 but couldn't see it for foliage so lost 2mins. Lost time at 16 and at this point Anthea managed to sneak past. Chased her up the next hill whilst having Vanessa chase me down. Clean into 17 but no sight of Anthea until i punched 18 and saw her running back from the finish to punch the control so i ran as hard as i could to hold off both Anthea and Vanessa.

Happy to complete the H1 with the lack of training but I thoroughly enjoy this area for orienteering so i need to make the most of it.

Managed to avoid the rain. Wind was a nice WSW'r which made the ride in pleasant. If only they can clear the paths of debris before the ride home this arvo.
