out and back on the Farmington Valley Trail - rail trail
from Avon, through Simsbury, east Granby, Suffield to Mass border/southwick
busy with people, bikes and bladers, but room enough to push the speed.

jogged the course easy. had trouble with the cliff near the big boulder. the orange streamer confused me.

Wells State Park MTBO event

Went out fast and without much map study during my first minute with the map. Typically you get 1 minute before your start to tuck the map into the map holder. I had done this prior to showing up at the start box so I really did not take advantage of the time.
Left cp1 and went directly to cp3, discovered mistake and then went to 2. some extra climbing and distance cost me about 2 minutes. 4, 5, 6 ok, went to 9 before 7,8. lost a minute half. 10-12 OK, at 13 was near the finish and also near the string O which had about 10 flags with SI boxes. confused me quite a bit. lost another 1.5 min.
need to read map and memorize more before moving on.

Green (course color and the condition of the woods)
forgot O pants. what I thought were red pants was a red shirt. ran bare legged through some really nasty woods. I remember that from the A meet. I did not remember all the PI on the ground. Had a good wash after first eating a hot dog and chips.
