Orienteering race (Relay) 1:01:13 [5] 7.8 km (7:51 / km)

Mentally, this race went better then the other but physically, I felt incredibly dead. Aced all the controls except one which I prob lost about 3-4 min on. The big issue was just bonking really early (when I shouldn't have bonked at all). Over all, the relay and Long were my two best races for JWOC but even still, they were far behind what I would have liked. Race over all mentally: 85%. Physically: 40%

Orienteering race (Middle Final) 38:04 [5]

So disapointed. I was really hoping for a good race and felt much better today mentally. The race was going exceptionally well until the 11th control where I made the stupid error of going straight to 15 (which wasn't even near 11). The mistake cost be dearly and by the time I reached 11 I had a seriously hard time motivating myself to keep pushing hard. I feel kinda crushed. What is normally my best race has turned into a disaster in some respects. Definitely need some post race analysis to understand how I can improve in races to come. Race over all mentally: 50% Physically: 75%

Orienteering race (Middle Qually) 28:22 [5]

Ughhhh, pretty terrible Middle Qually. Feeling shitty. My main goal for the year was to do well in this race so its a huge blow to mess it up. Just couldn't seem to get into the map and made some very stupid rout choices which cost me some serious time. Felt kinda sick all day but thought I could pull out a better result then this. On the positive side, I did have some great legs, but they were cancelled out by some bad ones. Over all race mentally: 70% Physically: 85%

Orienteering race (JWOC Long) 1:46:55 [5] 11.2 km (9:33 / km)

Another OK race. A bit disappointed because I didn't have that many obvious mistakes but did pretty bad in the standings. 126/149. Physically felt ok, not amazing but not bad. Hills killed!!!! Had about 8 min of obvious mistakes but Im sure more could be deducted with proper micro orienteering...."invisible time loss." Besides a bad rout choice my first mistakes occurred when I hit the butter fly loop and had a short easy leg. Age old mistake of not focusing and thinking the leg was easy (which it was). I set a perfect bering but thought it was wrong and veered off. Always trust your compass!!!!! Just as a side note, I wrote compass on my punching hand and made sure to check it at every control. It even if I didn't really need it while exiting controls it kept its importance on my mind. Over all race mentally: 80% Physically: 75%
