WCOC blue day 1 middle. Not the greatest run. Ok in the beginning up through the first long leg (10), then I started to get tired and my stomach felt gross from the penicillin, so I wasn't paying too much attention to where I was going for the end couple controls. Pretty big mistake at 11, way too far left (wrong side of 13), and then stopped short on 12.

Note

on the way to Redding on friday afternoon I stopped by the Sacramento zoo to play with the camera. some of the better pics. they actually turned out pretty good considering most of them I was focusing straight through chainlink fence, so it washed out big chunks of the frame.

and also others from the training.

Note

Finally got to the doctor this afternoon, and she hooked me up with all sorts of happy drugs. Also said I should swim less and ski more, and given that i haven't done the former in a couple years, i'm gonna have to work double hard on the latter. But considering that I'm probably out of commission this week and east next week, I think i might have to declare defeat on ski season. At least for the close stuff, there's still another month or two in the high sierra, but that takes some work.

Note

everybody was heading down to sacramento for a GCO meet sunday, but overnight my ear went from mildly annoying to full blown painful oozing infection, so I bailed and just drove home. I don't get sick often, but it always seems to be on the days the doctors office is closed. tylenol doesn't really do anything, so I didn't really sleep saturday or sunday nights.
