West Point day 1 Green course. Mediocre run. Fine until 6. Couldn't figure out an attackpoint and had trouble tracking all the small rock and contour feature along the way. Read the saddle as being higher on the hill than it was so even when I saw the control from above, I didn't think it was mine. Probably lost a couple of minutes. I think I was distracted from that so when I got to the trail to go to 7, turned left. Ran for a hundred meters or more until I caught it and turned around. Then came into 7 from the trail a little early. Slow going to 8 cause there was more green than mapped. Then at 10, veered off to a flag on a boulder that was lower than our reentrant. Aside from the mistakes, I just felt really slow slogging thru the blueberries and rocks.

Day 2, green course at HVO A meet, Surebridge. A really good run with no significant mistakes. After yesterday's fiasco, I was slow and careful. Had trouble reading the map from 5 to 6 but was taking a careful enough bearing and pacing so I pretty much hit it dead on. Did a 180 out of 7 for a few paces and then corrected (distracted by the tents and kids?). Nice courses and terrific weekend.
