Running (Trail) 6:00 [2] 0.75 mi (8:00 / mi)

Warm-up for Beaver Brook Farm meet in Vermont. I did some wind sprints too.

Orienteering (Competition) 1:22:53 [4] 6.34 km (13:04 / km)

At Beaver Brook Farm near Marshfield, VT. See the Split List. I ran okay but had a few mistakes. I would have felt better about the race had I done more of it on my own.

Orienteering (Shadow Training) 1:20:50 [2] 4.0 km (20:13 / km)

In NH, north of Manchester on Fox ___ park. This was the site of an A-meet a few years earlier. Peggy and I shadowed each other on the course from maps she had. I got a chance to see how many boulders which would be huge in Quantico territory, don't even count to be shown on the map.

Running (Street & Trail) 5:08 [3] 0.75 mi (6:51 / mi)

An easy run around the block at Northridge Bowie. I worked late, had some chores to do and had to pack to go to Vermont--there wasn't any time left.

Orienteering (Technical Training) 1:20:00 [2] 3.0 km (26:40 / km)

On Bear Island at Great Falls, MD. Wandered over the island with Peggy half the time and half by myself, just trying to make sure we knew exactly where we were the whole way. The ponds were dry and served as good reference points to confirm position.

Running (Track) 50:00 [5] 11.45 km (4:22 / km)

At UMD Track w/PGRC. Warm-up of 1750M followed by 4x1500M followed by warm-down of 1750M. Played chase with Bob Grumbine who was doing 4x1200M. I didn't catch him though I got close. We jogged short of 700M in between. It started warm but cooled nicely. I forgot my watch this morning so the overall time is an estimate. Bob timed the intervals: 5:14, 5:16, 5:17, ?. The last one was probably the fastest as a younger guy not in the club helped me by following me the last 1000M while he started his intervals.

Running (Street & Trail) 6:00 [2] 1.0 km (6:00 / km)

Warm-up for QOC's Hemlock Overlook meet.

Orienteering (Competition) 1:21:33 [4] 7.88 km (10:21 / km)
spiked:17/20c

QOC's Hemlock Overlook meet. See the Split List for comments. The Blue course had many controls in common with the Green course that I ran the previous night in the dark. There was much deadfall too.
