From Northfield Rd., Bethesda, MD, to 13th & C St. SW, Washington, D.C. I wasn't sure at first since I had some resistance early, but by the time I was passing Fletcher's Boathouse, it was clear that I had a tailwind. I rode alone passing others quickly. It was cooler (low 60s F) with less pollen in the air and in my eyes.

From 13th & C St. SW, Washington, D.C., to Northfield Rd. Winds were blowing pretty hard at times. I was +3 minutes slower getting to Georgetown and I wasn't obstructed by traffic much. Oddly, there were some places where it was at my back or side, and thus negligible or helping. Mostly though I was riding into it. Trees and hills provided some protection. I got passed not far out of Georgetown and at River Rd., but I also pulled another and dropped him before Fletcher's Boathouse. I rode harder than I planned. This was partly because when the wind wasn't obstructing me, I felt I needed to take advantage of it.
