ECOC, Long - 5.3 km, Sutton, Quebec. Long slog through very wet terrain stumbling over lots of deadfall hidden by ferns. Wasn't a huge amount of fun, and not really liking the 1:10,000 map on a cool, very cloudy day. At least the rain held off or it would have been really awful. I don't know how to keep a compass bearing on these types of legs so I had some navigation problems. Very disappointed not to have broken two hours, but I did come in third ahead of a very strong runner, Cathy Bakker. Still a fun weekend hanging out with good orienteering friends and catching a little tennis, on the side.

ECOC, Middle Distance, 2.9 km, Sutton, Quebec. Much better outing than yesterday. Was through field and forest, but per km time was almost the same as yesterday. Bobble on #2 and #7. Cool, cloudy day so wasn't fond of the map scale of 1:10,000. Still, only a minute behind Wendy and Janet Findlay. and 15 minutes behind Marketa.
