Orienteering race 1:10:12 [4] 7.4 km (9:29 / km)

OUSA Junior Nats - Day 1 (Classic)
- overall good flow and nice running--forest was mostly white with very big distinction between dark green and white, while light green was very good running for the most part
- no mistakes off the beginning; one error where my map was upside-down and definitely a few very minor (15s) mistakes
- good legs: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 13, 15, 16, 17, 20
- legs that need a little improvement: 5 (bad bearing--veered west), 10 (ran a little too far), 18 (took the trail a little too far--very little time loss), 19 (took the trail around, learned later that it was quite good running in there because of the clearings)
- legs that had large errors: 12 (got caught in the gullies and ended up running the trail by the power line), 14 (upside-down map--veered east instead of hitting trail and had to change my route a bit)

East Fork State Park model map
- jogged around some; looked at streams and gullies

Orienteering race 49:28 [4] 4.62 km (10:42 / km)

Flying Pig middle
- overall decent navigation
- really physical terrain--lots of very green forest and very pronounced gullies, and because of the rain the day before it was somewhat muddy; there were also lots of leaves
- I managed to have a good start and not makes any mistakes off the beginning like I usually do
- good legs: 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13
- legs that need improvement (small errors): 4, 12
- legs that went poorly (actual errors): 7
