Skiing w/ Rogers and Gomez. On Exhibition traverse skiied hard into tree with left knee. Was trying to scrub speed and straddled tree. Thought I had shattered the patella and needed 15-20 min to stand up again. Was able to ski down but knee is swollen with pain on flexing. Iced the knee and took Celebrex for the inflammation.
Run NA Champs Long Course
Controls 3-10
Hard running in terrain - twisted ankle on trail run.
Used magnifier on compass for first time - thumb compass without end a bit odd. Felt good but slow in terrain.
Seedrioru Loop
Half hour out to old Elm in field - farthest yet. Felt very good to be on solid ground again. Met Mait and kids at Vana Skauti Laagri plats.
Sunningdale Short
In the rain and heavy sloppy snow. Felt great though - one of those runs were you can push it hard and not feel tired. Maybe taking it easy the past week has been good? Duh!
Full snow up in Rossland - 4-5 in.
Ski out to Torreson's Cabin for wine and dinner. Had to drink the bottle of wine so as not to carry it back - skiing is hard when a little bit inebriated. Not the coordination but the aerobic aspect - does not feel good. Note to self - don't drink heavily before a race.
Sunningdale Short Loop
Still a foot of snow on the ground. Hard push up the steep hills when slipping. Dead deer carcass on trail that was being ripped apart - big cat or hunter?
Centennial Trail Head to Red Mtn. Base Lodge and back on road to trail on side of reservoir. Still punching through some of the snow pack.
Nice day - sun shining -5C.
Modified Miner's Loop
Snow too deep on Miner's so cut down to Centennial and did reservoir loop.
Starting to get calf cramps at night due to lack of running.
First Day of Downhill at Red.
Fantastic conditions and nice sunshine.
Skiing w/Tom and Steve. It takes awhile to get the ski legs back - but by the end had some great groomer runs at speed. All body parts still intact.
BJ Skiing w/Tom
Jeldness-Rawhide-Boomer-Gibbards Cabin-Barry's Field-Jeldness-Tim's Trail
Some grooming still too soft. Ungroomed areas better than groomed.
