Shovel Snow 15:00 [1]

Another 6" last night - took about an hour to shovel.
Nice and fluffy - hill opens this Friday.

XC Skiing 1:05:00 [3]

Out Jeldness-Rawhide-Boomer-Gibbards-Race Loop-Tim's Trail
Grooming a bit soft for skating - really had to work the uphills. Feeling sluggo - overtraining?

Running 1:11:47 [3]
ahr:155 max:170 shoes: Inov8 MudClaw w/studs

Sunningdale Short Loop
Snow depth is 8-12" in Trail. Hard strength workout in the snow. What took 50min previously is now 70min. Nice and soft running through the trees.

Shovel Snow 30:00 [1]

Upper body workout. About a foot of snow but nice and fluffy. 2hrs total but say 30min workout.

Saturday Nov 25, 2006 #

XC Skiing 56:00 [3]

Skiied Jeldness-Rawhide-Boomer-Gibbard - mapping at Barry's Field and then out Gibbards again. Beautiful sunshine. Tracks still a bit soft making skating a good workout.

XC Skiing 1:00:00 [2]
ahr:135 max:162

Skiing for first time this year. Groomer was broken so the going was tough - about 5-6" new snow but fluffy. Mapping areas that need to be changed for FIS with Tim.
Sun on the new snow was beautiful. Reminded me why we need to live here

Running 45:00 [1] **

Jog and stop - mapping Beaver Creek.
Ugly wet day.

Running 49:26 [4]
ahr:161 max:177 shoes: Inov8 MudClaw w/studs

Sunningdale Short
Snowing in Rossland so off to Trail I go. Nice run with snow covered ground at the higher elevations.
Shoes felt a little better - still too tight.

Running 56:13 [4]
ahr:157 max:175 shoes: Inov8 MudClaw w/studs

Deer Mountain Loop
Heavy wet snow at top - could not run through at times. Ran all the way up but meadows were too deep. Powerline road had been driven

Running 46:46 [3]
ahr:153 max:170 shoes: Inov8 MudClaw w/studs

Run Miner's Loop
Main trails nicely packed -Miner's a struggle. Easy run watching the footing.

Running 52:00 [4]
ahr:161 max:179 shoes: Inov8 MudClaw w/studs

Ran Sunningdale Short w/Greg. Good hard workout. Ran with new shoes which kept sliding off the heel. Tight in the toe box and slipping off the back. Retied them twice but this cut off the circulation a bit - pins and needles. Good traction with these shoes.

Running 40:00 [2] **

Run Selkirk College map made by Ross Burnett in the 80s. A lot of new buildings and all the reforestration areas have really grown up. Could possibly work as a map for the area - not much terrain detail - but would be easy to map. With snow in Rossland already this might be the choice for the winter.

Running 52:02 [3]
ahr:158 max:174

Sunningdale Short Course
Snow up in Rossland now, so I have to migrate down to Trail to run. Haven't run this route since spring and got turned around on one of the forest runs.

Saturday Nov 11, 2006 #

Orienteering race 45:00 [5] ****
spiked:17/19c

Three races at EWOC meet at Mirabeau Park. Technical terrain with many rock features - decent map for first cut. Shadowed Tiivo on Beginner, ran Intermediate and Advanced Beginner. Sprint courses- point and shoot. About 6-7min/k times.

Friday Nov 10, 2006 #

Running 1:11:00 [3]

Running at Black Jack along snowy trails. About 6" of snow already accumulated. Could be skiing already - some wet spots at stream crossings. Mapped Barry's Field again.

Wednesday Nov 8, 2006 #

Running 30:00 [2]

Run Black Jack Trails for 30min. Mapping for another 45 min.

Tuesday Nov 7, 2006 #

Running 1:01:16 [4]
ahr:163 max:177 weight:80.3kg

Run the "Full Monte" from Centennial trail head, Coffee Run and up Milky Way back. With Greg which was good as he made me push the pace. Calves were screaming up Milky Way - strided up for a couple minutes. Raining and bleak - best way to pick up the spirits.

Sunday Nov 5, 2006 #

Running 1:16:16 [2]
ahr:145 max:164

Running alone exploring trails. From Centennial Trail head out KC to mine access road, downTechno Grind to Full Monte and halfway down. Turn around and back up Monte Cristo and down Snake.
Not fast - checking out terrain for maps.

Saturday Nov 4, 2006 #

Running 30:00 [4]

Run with RMR out Centennial Trail for 12min - turaround and pick up Tiivo and Aanika languishing as they had gone out too fast.
