The Sprint at PNWOF in Bend. Got there late, started slow. Made a nasty mistake. Sped up afterwards, both mentally and physically. Lost convincingly to my main Sprint Finals contenters, Jon Campbell, PG, and J-J... but, got really nice points since not too many people showed up for this 50-pointer, so still hope to have enough points for Heat 1.

The Middle at Arnold Ice Cave. Second time I'm here, and again the same mistake out of the start! something must be wrong with the magnetic field. Anyway. We started the Middle according to our Sprint results in 2-minute intervals; M21s only on Blue, so I didn't have to chase Pavlina. I had a mediocre, sleepy race; definitely short on sleep.

Aquatic Park and back. Recalibrated the foot pod using the Gmaps distance; have been feeling for a while that the cal has been long. The new cal factor is 1048; was set to 1084 after the calibration on 29 July. I think that the stride was too short on 29 July. I tried to have a longer stride today, so that it would be comparable in length to the competition stride, the conditions under which I am most interesed in getting accurate data from the foot pod. Joe Scarborough confirms that the pod seems sensitive to stride length well outside its 3% accuracy spec.
