Orienteering race 1:25:16 [5] 5.7 km (14:58 / km) +165m 13:04 / km

Ran the Green course at QOC Patuxent meet. No problems with the first few controls today. I really only made one serious mistake that was going to control 7 and ended up too far up the stream and had to double back to the correct re-entrant. I thought I ran some good legs but we'll see how the splits look when they come out.

Bike back and forth to work. Got cut-off by a school bus driver on the ride in who actually opened his school-bus door at the next stop light to yell at me telling me "you ain't no car, you dummy!". I guess to him cyclists should not even be on the road meaning he probably cut me off intentionally. And this is a school bus driver! I'd like to see him ride a bike to his day job: waiting in line at the unemployment office.

Running 39:40 [4] 4.75 mi (8:21 / mi)

Very hard run around the Hobbits Glen / Swansfield route. I was pushing hard on the back part of the course even though it was hurting. I found myself still going and not crumpled on the sidewalk so just kept pushing. Felt like improvement over the last time I ran this course.

Later: After looking up my times from this course in past, I found my best time to date was 41:27. So, I beat that by almost two minutes today.

50 lengths at the pool at noon. Was going to do just 44 lengths but decided to go to 1.25 K today. I could tell I was doing some extra distance because I was getting tired near the end. Longest swim so far.

Cycling 1:23:20 [4] 24.2 mi (3:27 / mi)

Got off work a little early so took advantage of the extra daylight and went for a road ride. Great weather - mid 50s very light breeze and sunny. I felt very good. Tridelphia loop. Pushed it up the final hill on Homewood Rd and did not drop below 14 MPH on the climb.
