Paddle (canoe) 7:00:00 [2]

Flambeau River - w/ John

very fun, some portions with white water, nothing too scary but we still managed to get hung up on some rocks near some rapids :) However, the boundary waters trip helped as we got our steering under control :) Did not dump! but came close...

Devils lake park - trails + road w/John

We started off from the nordic pine camground on DL, going east, which is more than one mile steady crazy uphill... I thought I'd be spilling my guts there.. Then we ended up at the trail head for east bluff, and I thought I should take John there cause it's pretty. Well, soon enough we were running up this trail (or at least 50%). what a killer! never thought that trail was so hard :) Still pretty views :) Then we were going for a while and I didn't have a watch or anything, so i asked him how far we went, he sais "oh, almost 3 miles", I was so tired: "really? cause that seemed a bit long". yeah, it was 5 really long miles! of which who knows how much uphill. But we got our reward of running same hill on DL downhill! So fun!

Got a bit late, and was planning to go for a quick run afterwards, but had fun weeding in the yard instead. 'Life is beautiful' - great movie.

Running (trail paved) 38:47 [4] 3.98 mi (9:45 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Omni

Up north

YES! I can run again! Today was a bit cooler (74F) and plenty shade... or whatever it is I felt a lot better than yesterday. First i was a bit bummed cause Greg backed out of the MTB, but I was so uplifted from Lifest, that nothing could really upset me. So decided a run was 'needed".

First 2 miles pace: 10:22 min/mile
Last 2: 9:06

Took a 2 min stretch break in the middle :) Ok, now I really plan to NOT run tomorrow, so i don't go from one exterem into other..

Running (trail paved) 42:15 [3] 4.03 mi (10:29 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Omni

Up north

Kinda hot. Still incredibly slow. I'm finally feeling the soreness from 1st run few days ago and from the body pump (thighs, bottom, just could not stretch my legs out). It felt like i was carying a bag of potatoes, or more like 2 bags of potatoes.

Running (trail paved) 53:20 [3] 5.01 mi (10:39 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Omni

Up north -

Went very nice and slow so I don't scare my legs off after 5 weeks break. perfect weather for running, for anything (except sailing maybe). I can;t belive how tired i got going at 11min miles. In any case, I'm glad i went out.

Boundary Waters - did not quite count the hours we paddled.

I can't wait to start some running and strength training again. But gotta use my newly aquired sailing skills too...
