Running (Trail Dirt) 1:14:00 [3] 7.0 mi (10:34 / mi) +350m 9:09 / mi
slept:8.5 shoes: Nort face

Lapham Peak - black loop - all alone with the cute deers!

Funny the way I ended up there ;) I was supposed (ok, I, myself, only, thought that I was supposed) to go MTB with some friends at John Muir. Well, it was apparently scheduled for next thursday, not today. Way to pay attention, Ioana!

Anyway, I turned around just in time and stopped at lapham as I wanted to do that loop for so long. I had the clunky trail shoes, as I was really not prepared for running. The weather was a bit humid and a lot of people complained, but i found it just wanderful!

On the way there I had this dizziness come and go. I had it during the run too. And I'm still having it. I don't think i;m dehidrated, but who knows. I had to sit down a few times during the run, to get the balance back up. So I am quite surprised of the time I managed to complete it in.

No gadgets this time, so no HR or .... I didn't even had a watch, just my cell :)

Riding 30:00 [2]
slept:8.0

Bare back with Nugget.

Need to relax hips a bit more at trotting.

Went outside as well, to enjoy the breeze but the flies wer bothering her to much, so we went back inside.

Running (paved trail) 37:49 [3] 3.68 mi (10:17 / mi) +140m 9:11 / mi
shoes: NB 1060

Up north.

HUMID!! wow, am I sweating or what! I have no clue where all this sweat is coming from. i didn't even drink that much (which will be rectified soon!). My pony is soaked, as in dripping soaked!

almost cut it to 3 miles, but didn;t feel quite as an accomplishment so went to he second hill so i got another chnace to race with myself up the hill. sometime I may log the absolutely silly things I'm imagining when i race with myself...

Shins hurt again! what is up with that? never had that before and no clue how to stretch...

absolutely gorgeous sunset (red with clouds) + a good number of fireflies. I sure hope everyone gets to enjoy this stuff!

NOTE TO SELF: this may be the longest training time in a week ever, so I better reward myself. I'll think of some rewards (NOT a "quick thanks"!! :))

Stretch/Strength (Body Pump) 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: NB 1060

Over achieving monday! Stayed with same weights and except slight lower back pain, everything feels great. I might even run today. The training is coming kinda slow, and except a bit of weight that I put on with this long training break, my muscles feel pretty good.

Massage coming up, yeah!!

Running (paved trail) 38:53 [3] 4.03 mi (9:39 / mi) +150m 8:39 / mi
shoes: NB 1060

Up north as usual. i like starting late (again almost 8pm). it's nice and cool and you get to see both sunset and fire flies. I again felt like I was retunrning from fairyland when I got back to the house.

Shins hurt a little bit and got very mildly frustrated that I;m not "that fast" anymore ;)

I am considering adding the riding as training, given that it gives pain. It seems like a good enough reason t me.

Paddle (Canoe orienteering) 1:24:00 [1] 6.0 km (14:00 / km)

Busse Lake, near ORD, noonish

Ha-ha...I had trouble thinking what shoes did I wear :) Now I remember, my most expensive REI watershoes.... in about 10 years they'll pay off!

This was so much fun! Had Dragos as team mate as last year, and we did a whole lot better (= almost no bickering :). We were a bit tired after party last night (ok, I napped in the car, so that was not exactly fair...), but as soon as I hopped in the canoe I forgot about all the tiredness.

Weather was great, we saw some tall skinny white birds - stork looking like, wind was barely there. There were a ton fishermen on the lake that we kept bothering, but hey, they could figure out the route and get out of the way...It was interesting that we actually had to get on the land and search for the control couple times, so you could not always see the control from the other side of the lake. i like that.

I forgot to turn the watch on till control 6 (past mid way...), but oh, well.

Then right at the finish, I quickly walked to punch in the finish control, and one second dragos was in the boat, and next he was all soaked getting out of the water. apparently big drop right at the shore:)) it was quite a funny site!

Left over chicken picnic to end and a visit to wally's completed an awesome day of fun!

we ended up 12 out of 23! YEY!

Up north. A bit hot. Energy level almost OK.

Stretch/Strength (Body Pump) 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: NB 1060

Same as monday. It was good to see the old gang.

train pretend (Zumba) 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: NB 1060

It took me half hour to realize I cannot understand the steps, and then everything came into place, where I was just having fun making up my own stuff. Great workout!

Running (paved trail) 37:41 [3] 4.02 mi (9:22 / mi) +130m 8:31 / mi
ahr:159 max:186 shoes: NB 1060

Yes! I am so proud of myself! Conquered procrastination one more time! I went out pretty late (8pm, that's late!), me, the mosquitos and the fire flyes. It was fairyland... as long as I didn't stop. cause the mosquitos made sure I woke up to reality! Therefore, not that many stops.

Thought for future: night time may be a good time for me to run (cool, mosquitos to keep you going, beer in the fridge, uuhhh... that may be it)

Time does not include couple min of rush streches and mosquitos fights mid way.

Registered for Canoe-O. Got tickets for WY. From my prev experiences, running training for out west never paid off, maybe the right training would be to stick my head in a paper bag for 30 min and try to breath...

Running (paved trail) 41:06 [3] 4.05 mi (10:09 / mi) +200m 8:48 / mi
ahr:160 max:178 shoes: NB 1060

HOT!! So I had the whole morning to do this workout, as i was working from home, and what does Ioana do? Obviously, queen procrastinator waits till last minute = high noon, hottest time of the day, so I can go out and run. I can tell it was definetly not overachieving monday :)

Legs felt great, actually to keep it short, everything felt great, except this great lazines that came over me and hang out with me the whole time, whispering "walk, walk...what's the use of running....stop, see how good it feels" Ooops, didn't have any answer prepared for that :)

Considering at this time doing the canoe O this weekend....

Stretch/Strength (Body Pump) 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: NB 1060

....And the series of over achiving Mondays is back on! So today I cranked it real bad:

Squats, Back and Chest : L+M
Bicep, Tricep: M+S
Lunges: my quads failed me miserably. I usually pretend to do the lunges, well, I could not even pretend today :)

My body hurts wherever I can identify muscles, so that must be good. However, my quads are super tight for a reason I can't think of. Especially that as part of over achieving Monday I was gonna run as well today, but that may be out of the question now.

Running (paved trail) 53:46 [3] 5.63 mi (9:33 / mi) +200m 8:36 / mi
ahr:155 max:176 shoes: NB 1060

Up north. Nice and cool. Quads behaved. Nice sunset. Did not include strecthes mid way. skipped the push ups due to audience. met mike on the trail so that helped with the aleviating the mild boredom.

Running (trail paved) 37:25 [3] 3.92 mi (9:33 / mi) +100m 8:51 / mi
ahr:160 max:177 shoes: NB 1060

Up north. A bit hot. Ok, very hot! or at least it seemed that way, just as soon as I got out of shade. Time does not include a few minutes of streatches and 10 push-ups mid way. I guess it just makes me feel so much better that I see my time is under 10min/mile :)

Running (paved road) 1:01:30 [4] 6.13 mi (10:02 / mi) +300m 8:43 / mi
ahr:158 max:191 shoes: NB 1060

Road/sidewalks in New Berlin. I had no idea New Berlin had so many hills. Quite a good workout. Ham strings a bit tight and now I know why (the other day I sprinted a few times, and this time sprinting was out of the question, even if it was tempting). Other muscles also tight from riding (bare back, awesome!) tuesday.

Wow, no clue how I hit 191 HR so early in the training. (was 185 3 min in)

Running (Paved Trail) 42:00 [3] 4.0 mi (10:30 / mi)
shoes: NB 1060

Up north 4 miles, not sure on the time, as my awesome watch run out of batteries 5 min in. Not the first time this happened, you think I should have learned my lesson by now... Ham strings are a bit tight, but everything is probably expected after a long break. A bit embarased, but I had to stop almost every half mile and walk... to enjoy sunset ?..right...
