Running (Trail Paved) 55:00 [4] 6.3 mi (8:44 / mi)
ahr:160 max:179 slept:7.0 shoes: NB 1060

Down south!

Today I felt adventurous and headed south on my trail...and amazingly enough..it was not all that bad. I may just do that again. I had planned to do easy lollypopping 6 miles, just to add some distance in my training. HR stayed nice and low, I actually had to force myself to go faster the last couple miles so I can get it to 167-168. Ok, I was cold most of the time, even if temp was 60F, so HR was proly low cause of that ...Right arch started hurting after miles 5, but no incidents otherwise.

This time I left my HR monitor run even after I was done, to observe this recovering HR rate Christoph is doing. So, 1st min, it went down from 179 to 140, then second min to 113. I'm sure it means I'm in awesome health and shape and better watch out cause I'm getting ready to break records!

Wait, wait!!! I need to mention there was no cheating today, no stopping that was not recorded in the time! So there, I can!

Running (Trail Gravel) 26:26 [4] 3.0 mi (8:49 / mi)

Up nort

I got in and out of the house in record time (not recorded), as dark was coming upon us.

1.5miles up, inludes quick warm up, break 2 min (recharge time not included), 1.5miles back..

Interesting that it took almost same time up and down(13.18 up, 13.08 down). So, with all theb huffing and puffing, this is about as fats as I can run right now, unless somthing/someone is chasing me w/ a stick!

Seconds after I got in the house that sky just tunr dark and started to pour!!! I did not notice, at all, that the storm was so close. It must have been one of those few times (maybe the only time) when i was actually concentrating on this running thing.

Stretch/Strength (Body Pump) 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: BROOKS Radius

men falls. a ton of new people, not sure where they all came from.

Compared to 8-29-07:
Back: 2*(L+M) - very tough
Bicep: 2*(M + 2S) - very tough

Feeling all right the day after, light lower back pain.

Stretch/Strength (Body Pump) 55:00 [2]
slept:6.5 shoes: NB 1060

This was my final lesson to never-ever go on tue-thur at the Brown Deer Y! Hated it! I had to actually get my head set, during the class, and crank my iPod to the max and it was barely covering the unbelievable annoying voice of the instructor. I would not go again even if there was no other body pump class in the world!!!
And to top it off, the whirlpool was luke warm and the jets had the power of my faucets ( the dripping power!). Hmm, at least I got this super yummy icecream (elephant tracks) !

Running (Trail Paved) 35:05 [4] 4.0 mi (8:46 / mi)
ahr:167 max:177 slept:7.0 shoes: NB 1060

Back in mosquito kingdom. The heat woke up their (hopefully) last wave. Wow, do they just love me! Oh, and do I love them back...w/ a killer hug!

To start things right, my ("here some non family friendly words") iPod decided it was time to not charge up anymore ("more words here") !!! So I dug up my dinosourous age walk man, w/ ice age music on it, I mean on a tape! Let's see, a little trivia: "what you do's to me", "tell me why"...kinda embarassing but kept me entertained.

Did 2 miles up and down. Time includes worm up, but doesn't include the little break in the middle to "stretch". The break I was really eyeballing a runner coming the other way, thinking he would pace me, then he decided to turn around just quarter mile after running "together". I must look mighty scary. Oh, well. At least I got the mosquitos!

It's weird I only hit 177 HR but I felt like I was kinda pushing it..In the end I figured I was not completely wiped out, cause after a "cool down" of 1 min, I just felt like sprinting another minute... weird, I must have started to like running!!!

Orienteering race 1:00:26 [4] 5.4 km (11:11 / km)
ahr:164 max:182 slept:3.0 shoes: Integrators

CAOC event - Swallow Cliff - Did green, to minimize impact w/ unknown burrs and thorns.

Perfect weather to orienteer, the sleep deprivation didn't hit me by then, so I moved through the woods quite sneakishly fast. I did my homework and have lowered my expectations so badly, that I actually enjoyed the course in the end. Almost no mosquitos! The underbrush was however at Chicago's greatest, as expected, so now I look like I got measles, from all the thorns. I'm still plucking up thorns from my legs, a day later:))

I somehow convinced Ana to orienteer for the 1st time! This might have had something to do w/ a promise to head to "Taste of romania" fest afterwards, with a lot of "mititei si bere". Great way to finish an orienteering day!

Running (Trail Paved) 1:00:15 [3] 6.5 mi (9:16 / mi)
ahr:167 max:182 slept:7.0 shoes: NB 1060

the usual. a bit cold to start, then fine. listened to 156 lifter, which made me run like i was a robot "intors cu cheia" (plugged in?). the song was quite boring and monotonous to start w/, but then it got a bit more fun. i'm still tired from it and it added more punishment to my muscles since yesterday. this is not very promising for my colorama run..58min for 10k today, w/ no climb. there's no way I'll break under an hour for the 10k w/ 350m. let's see, how many more things I can think of to make me gloomy???!!! oh, yes, one more: I may be going to chicago tomorrow, for extra mosquitos and underbrush punishment! I need a hanky!!!

Stretch/Strength (Body Pump) 55:00 [3]
shoes: NB 1060

Men Falls, Y. Very fun.

I am so sore like I haven't seen a bar bell in my life. Well, as long as I'll be able to chop me a dinner now, I should survive this workout, too!

Running (Trail Gravel) 37:43 [3] 4.0 mi (9:26 / mi)
ahr:163 max:181 slept:7.0 shoes: NB 1060

When you see "get started using your log" mesage on your Attackpoint Log homepage, you know it's time to start rolling from the couch or dinner table and get down to the trails!!!

I went up north as usual, met (1st time ever some I knew!!) Greg C rollerblading. In a huge effort to create a good impression (so maybe-maybe he may be tricked into running w/ me!), I kept the walking to a minimum, which my tummy did not appreciate, after this long break of awesome dinners. Tummy still mad now, but I'm working on it. Stretch to follow, I promise!

Running (Trail Gravel / Paved) 38:00 [3]
slept:7.0 shoes: NB 1060

It starts like this: it was 80F and humid like ... hmmm.. a regular Wisconsin summer day, and a good storm was on its way, so I'm on the verge of giving it up today.

Just came from grocery shopping, and before I knew it I had a whole meal in my tummy and a huge desert. So, now w/ a full stomach, I inspect the porch w/ the big decision to be made if it's going to be beer or running ...luckily my neighbour was there and he seemed confident the storm was not gonna hit, so I quickly change, I left all my gadgets at home and hit the trail.

Weird, but it seemed like the mosquitous from all over the world had to make same decision, as they hit the trail w/ me at the same time. Of course, deet is sitting on the shelf of honor at home, only for special ocassions ... yet to be determined. Stretching or any other slow mo' was completely out of the question.

To get to the point...really there is no point, after 3 miles of huffing and puffing, finally decided to do "sprints???". That is I run quite fast 1min30 sec, then "walked" 1 min w/ my hands acting like windmills fighting invisible dragons....I did that twice and decided I gave a good enough show to the "normal" trail people, but didn't make any money on it, so I took off full speed, and cool down inside, pacing for 5 min in the house...in the comfort of no mosquitos..or other unnamed dragons.

Wait, let's not forget the calf stretch...did that 3*20secs/per leg. Should be an OK start (comparing w/ what I used to call stretch and that is 1*5sec/per leg, when time permitted :)

Stretch/Strength (Body Pump) 50:00 [3]
slept:5.0 shoes: NB 1060

A bit tired from reviewing DRSs and such late at night, so I had to get a decaf kick before the workout.

Foot/heel feels fine, I may be adventurous and try a "sprint" tomorrow, if the weather mildly cooperates

Running (Trail Paved) 59:10 [4] 6.0 mi (9:52 / mi)
ahr:165 max:180 slept:7.5 shoes: NB 1060

up north, the usual, just a bit fyurther,

HHHHHOOOOTTT! (ok, 85F, but it was hot for me!)

finally pulled myself together to do a longer run in this heat. i really need to go back to my onesies-twosies, so i have a more continous training. the idea of long run by myself in th heat...not so attractive.

went fine 1st 3m, then the rigght heel decided it was time to chill. the pain was oin the inner side, almost at the back end of the arch. it hurt prett bad to step on it, so i had to sit down massage (did not include all this in my tinme = cheating) . then walkec / jogged w/ thee smallest stride i can pull off...and inb about 5 min it went away! yeyeyey!

Running (Trail Gravel) 1:00:00 [2] 5.0 mi (12:00 / mi)
ahr:158 max:183 slept:8.0 shoes: NB 1060

What a BEAUTIFUL day! Wow!

Went mighty slow ....let's see what reasons I can come up with...hmm..my abs hurt the firts few miles (1" right of belly button, unknown reason), then I went running at the hottest time of the day (uuhhh...that is 77F), then belting out every other song I was playing on my iPod also helped w/ getting the breathing in a rithm:)

A little paddling in the afternoon, can't count that as training, thou' (it was mostly drifting and laying on the boat)
