Orienteering race 1:34:00 [3]
shoes: Integrators

Cat's Agenda, wisconsin. great forest, as expected. Big mistake at 6, I passed it 30 yards away, and then spent 15 min to get back in the same spot. Quite hilarious!

The heat, or something else made me feel very exhausted 40 min in, very unusual for me, given that I was not cruising or anything..

Otherwise a nice day, we had some good burgers at the dundee joint, and checked out the wade house quick.

Orienteering race 2:26:00 [3] *** 10.0 km (14:36 / km)
ahr:146 max:176 shoes: Integrators

The Goat in Chicago!

I run with Dragos, that made the looong course more fun (no clue how long it really was, I would just say 10k)

It was pretty good, we were a bit late and it took us about 10 minutes to figure out what was going on.
So, that put us in the 19 place at the 1st control, as we started (no clue what the other 5 teams that were behind us, even then, were doing...maybe they got there even later).

But by 6th control we managed to make it into the 5th place and stayed there.

Forest was OK in places, verry thorny in other places...no-one will catch me again in Chicago forests this year!

We saw a pertty big snake while crossing a big clearing (some early clearing, maybe on the way to 7 or something). dragos saw it first, and then I let a big yell out...the snake was most likely more scared than me :" hm..another one that yells like crazy! Can't a snake take a sun bath anymore!!??"

My feet are beat: I don't even know what to do anymore. First it was my arch, so I slid my inserts in the O-shoes. So, when I thought I got my arches under control.... my toe nails, so I taped my middle toe. Then a big blister showed up on my middle toe. Then my ankle probably got twisted!!! How am I ever going to make it during Detroit 3 day thing???!!!

Running 1:15:32 [4] 7.0 mi (10:47 / mi) +350m 9:20 / mi
ahr:160 max:184 slept:8.0 shoes: Integrators

Lapham Peak, Black Loop with Maja and Marco. Such a nice day... a bit warm, as we come from the wintry mode, but we had a nice breeze.

I am soooo out hilled, I could barely make it up the stairs at home.

Marco run with us the first 30 min, then he left us in the dust! :)

It felt quite easy the first 30min, but ater that it got harder and harder, apparently my endurance is not too good. And up that tower hill, I thought I was going to leave my lungs right there on the trail!

It was good workout, and 75min is not too bad for the 1st time this year.

We also saw a small snake on the trail! I had to jump over him, (which was not too hard, as he startled me :)

Good news: I found my HR strap (well, dave found it:). Bad news: the readings were today all over the place...

Stretch/Strength (Body Pump) 1:00:00 [2]
shoes: NB 1060

training this week went like this: one day my back hurt, (proly from lifting weights) one day my tummy hurt (food?), one day I just felt like relaxing in the nice., warm sun, on the beach bed in the porch. beats running any day! maybe...maybe I'll go running tomorrow...if I can pair it up w/ some fishing!

Stretch/Strength (Body Pump) 50:00 [3]
shoes: NB 1060

The regular. I felt quite rested, maybe cause I did strenghth only once last week. (cause I slept kinda bad last night)

Sunday Apr 15, 2007 #

Running 40:00 [3] 3.5 mi (11:26 / mi)
shoes: NB 1060

Oak leaf trail, with Dave rollerblading.

Nice day..no clue how far or what my HR rate was..not that it really matter, I was more concerned with not getting my shoes wet in all the puddles from melted snow, than to running.

But bad news: I lost my HR strap. Good news: hmm, still hoping to find it.

Note
(rest day)

I had in mind (and we'll keep it that way...only in mind) do do some strenght training today...but that Xtreeme thing yesterday left me w/ not much energy. Gotta save some for tomorrow's orienteering. Well, mid april, it was about time I did my 1st O event.

Biking (Spinning) 45:00 [3]
shoes: Shimano

Stretch/Strength (Body Pump) 55:00 [2]
shoes: NB 1060

Great workout, I went easy on back exercises, felt great. I only need a running buddy for couple days a week, and then my training would be complete.

Running 27:00 [4] 3.0 mi (9:00 / mi)
shoes: NB 1060

Awesome run. I am in this unbelieveable state of shape and energy...no idea whta's going on, but maybe it'll last :) this is my record for 3 miles run in the ind park.

Saturday Apr 7, 2007 #

Stretch/Strength (Body Pump) 1:00:00 [3]

my back hurt a bit...I need to decrease some weights

Friday Apr 6, 2007 #

Running 40:00 [4] 4.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
ahr:152 max:171 shoes: NB 1060

tread mill at the Y. I had the most unbelieveble energy! I was again running 6.5 m/h like it was nothing, with 155 HR, and I looked back, my last running training was one month and a half ago. then I decided to run .4 mile at 7.2 ....which for me it really is light speed! And it worked...wow, I'm amazed. No clue how I worked this performance out!

As for HR, 200, that's still a mistery. I wander if I picked up on the guys next to me...

Yeah, just checked my HR recording, I peaked 171..no clue where the 200 max is coming from

Stretch/Strength (Pilates) 1:00:00 [1]

Here's an example of a wasted hour! Besides that the workout is not that great (something like easy abs work for an hour!), but I managed to hurt my back a litt;e bit, so I couldn't run after it....I'll get over it! I'm still pumped about my adv race last weekend, so an hour of stupid pilates is not going to bring me down.

Note

ok, gotta decide if I should go to the MI event or not!

1st part of cyclopump

Stretch/Strength (Body Pump) 30:00 [3]

2nd part of cyclo pump

Running 30:00 [4] 3.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

a little treadmill work. I could not believe the energy I had after cyclo pump. i mean, I was going 7 miles/hour like it was nothing. no clue how that goes, looking at my log, my running training could not have been worse lately :)
