Running long (Trail run) 1:17:30 [3] 7.0 mi (11:04 / mi) +350m 9:35 / mi
shoes: Nort face

Lapham Peak. Overall did not push it to the limits, but I ran (slow :) every single hill!! First timer! I was able to do this i 75 min in the past, before I trained at all...no clue why I didn't beat my own time today.

Stretch/Strength (Body Pump) 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: BROOKS Radius

This is killing me! I was planning on some biking as well, but my quads are toast after this body pump. So resting should be adequate, I decided.

Running 40:00 [3] 4.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: BROOKS Radius

Drumlin trail, beautiful sunset as we were going west, and it seemed like every single alive Canadian geese was going to land on the lake along the trail. wow, this does not sound like a training description. well, I felt good, I could have pushed a bit harder, I just don't know how to distribute my energy yet.

Biking warm up/down 20:00 [1] 2.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: BROOKS Radius

easy bike ride to warm-up / cool down

Stretch/Strength (Body Pump) 1:00:00 [2]
shoes: BROOKS Radius

I kept adding the wrong weights to the barbell, so I was either struggling to lift it up or it felt like I wasn't doing anything. Oh, well, I suppose it's normal the first few times. I'm just so surprised to see so many ladies in a "body pump" class...

Biking 1:00:00 [3] 10.0 mi (6:00 / mi)
shoes: Nort face

Drumlin trail, forgot the watch, so time is quite approximated. Snakes and doggie poops on the trail. Sunny and verry pleasant for biking!

Running 1:02:20 [3] 6.0 mi (10:23 / mi)
shoes: BROOKS Radius

Drumlin trail, paved, 3 miles west and back. I tried to minimize the time spent to investigate dead snakes and toads that Dave found along the way. The most perfect weather for running (cool and misty). And this counts as my weekly LONG run, there!

And, yes, I was quite stiff on Thursday

Stretch/Strength 15:00 [1]

stretch, some abs and back strengthning

Stretch/Strength (body pump) 1:00:00 [2]

managed to get into one of those budy pump classes. we'll see how stiff will I be tomorrow :) whirlipool rocked today one more time!

Running 36:00 [4] 3.75 mi (9:36 / mi)
shoes: BROOKS Radius

treadmill at the Y. + wirlpooled my feet...that was the best part!

Monday Sep 18, 2006 #

Biking 30:00 [1] 10.81 km (2:47 / km)
shoes: BROOKS Radius

stationary bike at the Y. boring as ever. how does one get excited about training on a statinaty bike??!!

10 [2]
shoes: BROOKS Radius

Note

So I have like 2 little muscle fibers in my upper body. And I see this class at Y, just the right thing for me: BODY PUMP. So I get pumped up about it, get to the Y, again all pumped, and ...class was full! Apparently this class is as hot as a U2 concert, as it was full one day after enrollment! And that was my body pump attempt...

Orienteering race 1:20:42 [4] *** 5.8 km (13:55 / km) +180m 12:03 / km
shoes: VJ's

Bluemound, WI. Camping 5 min from start. What a great day for orienteering! Sunny and just the right temperature (no clue what the temp was, but felt good). A bit rocky, and slight green, but great course and some challenging legs there! And..., yes, I run for almost a third of the course!

Thursday Sep 14, 2006 #

Biking 30:00 [2] 9.72 km (3:05 / km)
shoes: BROOKS Radius

stationary bike at the Y. The machine displayed 9.72 miles or KM, so I assume it was km, as I don't think I ever biked 9.72 miles/30min, or if I ever will...

Stretch/Strength 30:00 [3]
shoes: BROOKS Radius

Today, after biking, I had for the 1st time treadmill-phobia! Could not keep it my balance on it...I tried twice, then I finally gave up and did eliptical and other machines I again found around there.

Running 29:53 [4] 3.0 mi (9:58 / mi)
shoes: BROOKS Radius

Treadmill, includes 6:40 min of warmup. Top speed 7miles/hour, for 2 min (that's light speed for me!)

Stretch/Strength 30:00 [1]

The fantastic stretches and some upper body workout, on whatever machines I found at the Y.

Orienteering race 57:00 [2] 4.5 km (12:40 / km) +50m 12:00 / km
shoes: VJ's

Chicago, Country Lane Woods, Relay: very green forest + wet. Yeah, not a big fan of green! My team was quite fun though!

Saturday Sep 9, 2006 #

Running 55:00 [3] 5.0 mi (11:00 / mi) +50m 10:40 / mi
shoes: BROOKS Radius

Scuppernong - green trail. excellent weather!

Stretch/Strength 20 [5]

Same fantastic stretches as yesterday and 10min abs. Some runners at the trailhead must have thought I really knew what I was doing!

Friday Sep 8, 2006 #

Stretch/Strength 40:00 [3]
shoes: BROOKS Radius

I did this "fantastic" stretch/strength exercises I found on the web. Supposedly they increase your speed, so in the end, maybe I'll be able to run during my orinteering events. That is more than only in the finish shute or when other orienteers are watching :)

Wednesday Sep 6, 2006 #

Biking 30:00 [4] 6.0 mi (5:00 / mi) +10m 4:58 / mi
shoes: BROOKS Radius

some cross training. no clue how long exactly it really took. I'll time better next time.
