Skiing (skate) 2:00:00 [3]

Lapham - black loop - with my new ski friend, Rick

Beautiful as always, a bit sticky. (actually very sticky, it really messed up my pole 'cups'?, cause once my pole got so stuck it pulled me backwards ;) so funny! It was also very cool and energizing to ski with someone else, and met some people that volunteered for Jeremy Camp concert, that I didn't go to.

Note; very important :) : I did NOT have the breaks on at all on the big slide. Oops, I guess i didn't time myself, but for sure less than 75secs :)

Lapham

I got there late so I shortened the black loop and cut through the purple trail next to buttlefly garden so i can make it during daylight. Then did another whole lit loop. Awesome!! Got to see a beautiful sunset every time on top of a hill and the full moon! oh, oh, and I made the second part of the 2 tier up with no stopping (uh, yeah, I had Deep Purple cranking - same song I used to run up same hill :)

So, now I feel I need some help with using the poles, as I just can seem to know how to use them, they're sorta in my way. Btw, after shortening the straps, the hand is not hurting.

Oh, and the whole time I could not get this song out of my head Kanye West : Love Lockdown. They play it during abs in body pump class, and it's got a catching beat.

Skiing (skate) 40:00 [2]

Brown Deer Golf Course - sunny, a bit chilly (26F, feels like 14F)

I scouted it today first time, nothing like the lapham or green bush, scenery wise, but a good workout. Oh, no hills, or very tiny ones. I got a loop in, no clue how long, next time I'll take my garmin with me to map the trail. I can;t believe the charger for my Garmin has DUST on it!! Whew! Got that taken care of :)

Stretch/Strength (body pump) 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Saucony Omni

BD

Not too much energy today. i had to be careful with the elbow from my overachieving bicep track last time. Gluts still hurt from last time. And I didn't want to get totally wiped out in case I can go skiing tomorrow. can't wait.

Skiing (skate) 2:00:00 [4] 7.0 mi (17:09 / mi) +350m 14:50 / mi

Lapham - after church

So today was the big day: I planned to attack the black loop, and I DID IT! No shortcuts, the wall, the asthma hill, whole 9 yards!! I will "dedicate" this loop to Charlie, who's been quite encouraging about this. I did not feel like i got any better than yesterday, but I felt quite comfortable down the hills, probably the slow snow did help. Oh, and I drank 64oz of liquid while on it, and I was sortof saving it, cause I had no idea how long this will take.

I am so tired and sore... definetely at least couple days off. Especially my right hand was hurting a bit... oh, and my thighs, espcially the right one ... i thought it was going to start on fire down the big slide (where I snowplowed only half way!!). Can everyone tell how excited I am about this??!

Skiing (skate) 2:00:00 [3]

lapham - it was so much fun! Even better than last time (except the blue skies). made the big slide again, so next time I go I have to take some water and...who knows, maybe I'll do the blue or black loop. Charlie's equipment went real good, T-H-A-N-K YOU!

Lessons learned so far:
1) lean on each foot to switch weight complelety
2) keep shoudlers forward though
3) keep hips forwards (really helps uphill)

Stretch/Strength (body pump) 55:00 [3]
shoes: Saucony Omni

Y - BD - Corey instructor (fun)

they were out of weights (better come earlier next time), so did biceps with large, so struggled the whole time, and in the end some tendonds inside the elbow were hurting. The instr said I better take it down a notch or I'll get "tennis elbow". So next time I'll take it to M+S, for recovery, and there after M+2*S for the extra challenge.

Running (tread mill) 40:00 [4]

At work, cause Renee had a dinner thing afterwards

About 6.5 first mile, then 6.1 next couple, then 6.3 last one. I think it was ok.

ice-skating 30:00 [0]

On the frozen river with Greg

I realized I sorta like ice skating on my own, when I practice my "tricks". So I may go there by myself. But skating along a frozen river is pretty cool... assuming the river is frozen, that is.

ice-skating (outdoors) 1:00:00 [1]

Slice of Ice with Dragos and Ana

it was so packed we didn;t quite get any workout, but it was nice and sunny, so pretty fun.

Skiing (skate) 2:00:00 [3]

WOW! yeah, it was tough!

So this is my 3 year trying this, first year with absolutely no success (thought I'd give up), next year Greg helped me out a bit and made some progress.

Today, the first 5 min felt really, I mean really awkward, then some came back (some not :), and went down the 2 tier couple times, picked up some courage, and then went first time ever on the BIG SLIDE! So much fun!

Snow was just great. Blue skies, Warm, wow, and yes, I am so beat, and sore already, so I don't even know how much worse can get tomorrow ...ha-ha-ha!

Note: may need to buy some skis now;) I sorta liked the rentals: boots were Salomon (active 8?), and Atomic Pro Skate Skis. I know nothing about skis, so I am very open to suggestions.

Not sure what trail, with Robby

So much fun! the terrain was flat, with a bit of sand, but the scenery was awesome! (palmettos, prickly pears..). Also, the woods were pretty wet (and I was wearing me new very fashion for biking: jeans and street shoes! :) ;)
