Running warm up/down 10:00 [2]

warmup/cooldown for long distance

Orienteering race 1:49:17 [4] 8.38 km (13:02 / km) +280m 11:10 / km

Alberta long champs. Make disastrous 17 minute mistake on the third control, and a 7 minute mistake on the 9th control, as well as a couple smaller mistakes. This map (updated Barrier Lake) can get extremely confusing if you lose contact. Finish 8/9 in M20, overall a pretty brutal race.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

10 min warmup/cooldown each for sprint/middle

Orienteering race 52:27 [4] 4.6 km (11:24 / km) +125m 10:02 / km

Alberta Middle Champs. Had a few bad controls making 1-4 minute mistakes, made about 11 minutes total mistakes. Definitely could have been better, but not disastrous. Finished 8/10 in M20

Orienteering race 21:10 [5] 3.07 km (6:54 / km)

Alberta Sprint Champs. Fast, fun sprint on relatively flat camp map. I make a few 15-30s route choice errors/hesitations/mistakes, but manage to stay out of big trouble. Mistakes total just under 3 minutes, but this is about the same amount that most other people were doing, and overall it was a pretty good race. Finish 4th overall in the men (3/9 in my category) behind Brian May, Mark Astridge and Adrian Z. Since Brian May is from BC, I take the silver.
