Chiropractor 20:00 [3]

Pretty good appointment today. Glad I went to see a chiropractor. He's optimistic that I'll recover but no more orienteering for a while. I need to take baby steps. Very short walk/runs. Running on grass is ideal to get the proprioception back. Yoga, swimming and cycling are also good.

Probably not a good idea to do the Sherkston triathlon. Knowing myself though it'll be hard to back out. Just need to force myself to go really slowly on the run. Walk as much as I need to.

Strength Training 20:00 [3]

Light upper body work - chest press, seated row, lat pulldown, shoulder press.

Swimming 20:00 [3]

Worked on breathing every other stroke and lengthening each stride. It was much better than trying to breath every third stroke. New Nike Remora II goggles worked very well and didn't fog up or let any water in.

Did a BodyFlow class at gym this morning. Really good class - a combination of yoga, pilates and tai chi. Might have to make it a regular Sunday morning event. I especially liked the tai chi part and will investigate taking some classes.

Overall, I feel pretty good after yesterday's orienteering. Was a little worried how my post-surgery ankle would be this morning but have been pleasantly surprised. Looking forward to next week now.

COC Festival Long - Course 7. The map is well done, brand new at Forks-of-the-Credit PP. Distance was too long for me though, particularly because of the very steep ravine. Not good for the ankles. I gave up after the 11th control and walked back for the finish. Not worth pushing things too fast and re-injuring myself.

On a positive note, I was jogging on the trails a little bit and feeling pretty good. The right ankle was starting to ache a bit and both hips/glutes were starting to act up. Switching to course 5 for next weekend's COC's.
