Camp Fortune

Yikes, two of my worst ever legs bookended today’s run, but a few of the legs in between I was happy with.

The first leg I decided to push my speed off the bat instead of being really slow as my first legs usually are. Well, this plan definitely backfired -- I was totally rushing things, didn’t keep the map oriented, and ended up dead last for this split (out of 37 participants)! Heh! For the last leg, I bailed on my plan to stick to the road when a trail appeared that I thought might offer a shortcut, only I couldn’t find the trail on the map so ended up all discombobulated and lost under the zip lines and wasted mucho time before finally reorienting back at the road and reverting to Plan A. Sigh!

As for the stuff in between, woo I had the fastest split for control #3 (short easy leg), although I heard #2 may have been in the wrong place in which case my good leg from 2 to 3 was probably sheer luck, but ah heck I’ll take it! I was also happy with the legs to #5 and #10. Lots of mistakes and poor choices on several of the other legs. But, always fun and can’t wait for the next try.

Iris/Queensway RALF training, great evening for it.

1.9 km warmup;

3.2 km consisting of 4 trail loops with 2 minutes rest;

3 km consisting of 4 Queensway Station stairs loops, continuous. Lots of stairs!

Time stats ommitted rest periods.
