Run 4:13 [3] 0.48 mi (8:42 / mi)

Orienteering 1:01:10 [3] 5.68 mi (10:46 / mi) +160m 9:54 / mi

We don't talk about 18.

First "good" race I've had in a while. Started slow with a quick mistake or two, then picked up the pace as I got further in. A quicker start would've bumped me up a position, but I'd rather be 3rd with a handful of micro-mistakes than who knows where with who knows how large of a mistake at the beginning.

Saw a lot of people crossing the "uncrossable" river south of 6. Don't think it made too much of a difference time-wise.

Spoke with a couple guys afterwards who said maybe 7 was misplaced but I attacked from the north and saw the control before the feature, so I wasn't paying attention.

Made an oopsie on the way to 9.

Same guys from before said something about 10 but I didn't notice anything wrong with it, maybe my head was too down though.

I think the route choice for both 11 and 12 were the best ones.

The whole area around 12 and 13 was deforested so it was just a contour-and-compass fest, and I ended up on a cleared track (not the trail) north of 13 that I thought was going to take me to 13 and had to turn around.

Was quickest on 15 but don't know why, other people must've made mistakes.

But definitely a race I'm mostly proud of, still had a bit of time in there that I could trim later down the line. Getting progressively more comfortable with the orienteering part of orienteering.
