Bike-Trainer 40:00 [4]

Still feeling pretty good in the legs. Orienteering gave me a pretty nasty cut on a toe that kept me from running today, but it wasn't in pain on the trainer.

Kayak Erg 40:00 [3]

Shoulders sore as soon as I began, but it got better as I went.

Orienteering race 1:30:00 [5] 7.99 mi (11:16 / mi)
shoes: Topo Terraventure 2 (red)

Score-o at French Creek.

Went generally counter clockwise, and I really liked my route. I think I could have gotten them all had I been clean on each control. The biggest struggle was with 55. The area was much flatter than I had expected and it took a few resets to get my location down and find the flag - probably about 3 minutes here. I got pulled off my line at 52, and I'm not really sure how. Came onto a cross trail over 100m north, but I found myself immediately and hit the flag cleanly from there. Another small mistake at 41, where I attacked at a bad angle. The brush was thicker around 45 than expected, and I had to attack from the west instead of the south. My biggest mistake was on the way to 51, where a white/light green area of the map was actually a wall of thorns - I spent about 2 minutes going 100m. From there, I had to sprint into the finish while grabbing 37 and 38. I punched the finish at 1:29:59 on my watch. I left only 35, 36 (one point each) and 49 (3 points).

I finished 2nd to Greg, who started a bit late and still got an extra control over me. Lots of fun!

Another ride - felt just fine after yesterday's. This was a bit more subdued.
