GVP Sprint. First control not my best. Like Stina, I decided for the first time this year I'd run in shorts, and 12 seconds into the race realized I run into the woods that had a poison ivy ground-cover...
Thought from the map that the first control would be beside the road, but when I came out of the woods I didn't see anything. Checked and saw two rocks and thought that would be into the woods a bit and so jumped into the woods on the other side thinking they'd be just into the woods - but no luck.
Took a bit to move around and find then beside the road as I first thought. [should have been more precise with the compass, first leg movement, and map reading]
Rest of the race was fine - essentially following handrails.
Distracted by the bench and side trail at 6.
Splits seem to show that the side trail was a few seconds faster to 7 - I missed it, Stina didn't, and the further bridge was faster to 8 - I took it, Stina didn't.
Distracted by similar vegetation at 10, and perhaps took the long way around the game.

GVP Trail Challenge. Nice course and effort, seemed to pace myself well.
The cat-tails at 5 threw me a bit, but everybody else seemed to be going around them, so I followed.slight mis-step on way to 10 as I almost followed the line to 16, but Stina went just in front at that point.
Bigger gaff as I stopped at 16 on the way to 11, and groaned when Stina didn't, and I realized the error.
Lost one runner on the way to 16 (for real) when I went right and he went left. Perhaps the earlier experience helped there...
