Thanks to me, everybody but one person can say they didn't finish in last.
The rain finished before the event started. Bugs were not a problem unless you stopped moving. It was not too hot.
I was twice alarmed (on different legs) by a hen flying up off her nest an instant before I would have crushed her and all her eggs.
