Snowshoeing 1:50:00 [3] 3.2 mi (34:22 / mi)

Mt Jo/Heart Lake Loop. The snow continued in earnest throughout the night - so we were wavering on heading up Mt Jo versus staying on the flat (and more trafficked) trails back to Marcy Dam. Mt. Jo is an easy (but steep) hike in the summer, but we had never really snowshoed in these conditions. We decided we were up for the challenge and we were both glad we went up. The short trail up had been broken earlier in the day by 1 or 2 groups - but it looked like no one had been on the longer section down. So breaking trail on the way down and following the markers was a bit more difficult. Anyway the top was fine with about 1/2 mile of visibility. When we got down we finished with a loop around Heart Lake. Of course the sky cleared once we finished our hike. Still had a great time!

Headed back to good old Rochester, catching an occasional radio update on the Purdue game versus Florida. Good thing we on the road in the North Country and couldn't get the game!

XC Skiing 2:30:00 [4] 8.0 mi (18:45 / mi)

Mt. Van Hoevenberg - The Lake Placid area had 12 inches of snow overnight, the temps were in the low 20's, and the groomer had made its way around most of the trails by the time we got started - so it was an ideal afternoon of skiing. Oh yeah, it also seemed like we had the place to ourselves. The snow during the day started to pile up and make the big hills a bit more difficult (up and down). We managed three separate loops before conking out.

Running 39:00 [4] 4.0 mi (9:45 / mi)

Kameron and I got to our hotel a bit early and since we couldn't do too much before dark we settled on a run. Managed to get around Mirror Lake and then around the side streets of Lake Placid without too much difficulty. The main strip was still quite busy with the Women's Frozen Four going on. Kept a slow pace and felt really good after.

We felt even better after dinner (and a few drinks) at the Carribean Cowboy. It didn't hurt that Purdue won as well. too bad they didn't show a single highlight the entire night on CBS!

Running 23:46 [3] 3.15 mi (7:33 / mi)
shoes: PI - SyncroFloat

Turk Hill - Perinton Park loop. Rain started about 1/4 of the way into the run - but the temps were still nice and it felt pretty good.
