Fun course today and I didn't get lost or fall down! It's been a while since I could say that! The course was on the easy side, and the climbing was moderate -- the only really steep parts were climbing down into ditches and getting back out, both for controls and en route. Had to chance my route or follow the ditches/streams several times to find a place where I could cross. Felt like an old lady. But climbing out with a broken arm was quite a trick. That slowed me down. Was surprised my time was as slow as it was. The forest was pretty open and blessedly without many brambles. I hit most of my controls pretty dead on (though that had a lot to do with close, obvious attack points). I felt pretty good jogging and probably ran at least 1/3 of it. Well, maybe not quite that much.

What I did well: Looked ahead on my map to plan my next leg. Exited my controls quickly. Did not turn the wrong way at all! (My tendency to do that is vexing.) Read the terrain along the way, including anticipating what I should see next.

What I would like to improve: remember to count paces where it could help locate the control. (There were only a couple today where that might have helped) And improve the accuracy of my pace counting. I was pretty far off on that first control. Forgot on the second, but I was reading terrain.
Continue to improve my stamina. There were definitely times today when I could have pushed myself to keep running or to run faster. I guess I was keeping something in the tank. Remember to site a distinctive object on my route when I set a bearing. The woods were clear enough that that wasn't a problem today, but I should make it a habit. Same with measuring distances and counting paces! Get a better compass....

My arm was hurting pretty much during the last few legs. I'm kind of worried about o'ing without the cast on. Next weekend!
