terrain run 10:00 [3] 2.0 km (5:00 / km)

short warm-up

orienteering 21:12 [4] 3.2 km (6:37 / km)

Nav-stock Sprint. Blew #4 badly. Missed a fence and ran off the map. At least 2.5 mins. MIssed #5 right. Then pain late made running hard. Very disappointed with my performance.

orienteering 44:23 [3] 6.8 km (6:32 / km)

Nav-stock middle distance. Another lousy performance. Was on line for #6 80% of the way then just decided to take a tour off to the left before coming back. Waaay left out of #11.

cycling 1:27:00 [2] 21.5 mi (4:03 / mi)

A fairly easy evening ride with Brad N in the county. A beautiful day - lots of horses, new foals and knee-high corn. The drive up there was a bear though. Took me 2 hours to get there from work (a 45 min drive with no traffic). Afterwards we did some bike maintenance. Brad had smashed his rear mtb deraileur on a ride last week. It was a mess. The frame hanger was bent and the jockey wheel frame was all bent back into the freewheel! We used a bench vise to bend the frame tab (hanger) and a HAMMER to pound the deralier parts back to square. I've used a hammer against a wrench to free stuck fasteners but I've never actually *hit* a bike with a hammer before, so it was all very amusing to me :)

3-hr Score-O at Hickory Run. My first time on this map. Pretty brutal forest...I took a beating. My shins have been pulverized into jello. Made a poor decision near the end to skip a control and came in 10 mins early. Sandy pointed out a better decision tree that I hadn't seen. Should have gone for it, but Randy still whupped me even if I had gotten it. Got all but 3. Not particularly great nav. Botched maybe 4/22. #11 I really had trouble with. In a flat swampy area, control was on point of swampy area.
