orienteering 44:21 [2] *** 4.9 km (9:03 / km)

Vetting at Kings Gap with Brad. Some snow still on the ground. Feet got wet (the plastic bags shredded) and very cold. Had to switch to boots. More interesting new parts of the map. Hiking and jogging.

Ran this leg a little faster. In hiking boots. Ocassional heavy snow showers - Christmasy. Climbey.

terrain run 22:41 [3] *** 3.8 km (5:58 / km) +155m 4:57 / km

Ran a loop around Kings Gap with the map before the meeting. Heavy snow showers at times. Got a little wet.

Muddy run in Roland park. Got rained on for the first time in a while, and even had a flash of lightning and thunder!

Roland park. I think the cold made me faster. Only had shorts and a sweatshirt with me today for the 32F and gusty winds.

Roland Park loop. My hamstrings complained the whole way - sore after the time trial yesterday.

Route choice training at Nolde (loop 2). Note there was 2-10" of snow on the ground for these.

trail run 14:19 [5] 3.35 km (4:16 / km)

Uphill/downhill trail time trial, mass start with the whole group. This was an out and back on a snowpacked trail, with 105m of total climb. Very hard effort.

Note

This weekend was my first level 5 effort since...umm...the relay champs in late Sept. Thats 6 months! It shows.
