orienteering 37:45 [5] 6.55 km (5:46 / km)

Team Trials day 1 at Forest Meadows. Probably my best short course ever. Thanks to Randy who shouted slogans at me late in the race. "Go for the burn!" "Push it - this is the Team Trials!" "VO2 max!" etc.

road run 5:00 [2] 0.5 km (10:00 / km)

Cool down.

road run 12:00 [3] 1.5 km (8:00 / km)

Warm up with old Plutonic Pleasures map.

orienteering 57:44 [5] 9.0 km (6:25 / km)

Day 1 of the 1000-day on MIddle Crow's Toe. Brian May caught up with me around control 6, and I spent the rest of the race (unsuccessfully) trying to run away from him.

long cool-down run while watching people come through the crossover.

Prolog at Gates of AMT Hell.

orienteering 46:46 [4] 7.5 km (6:14 / km)

Chase at Pitcher Hill. Made a huge error on the way to #8 and lost the pack. Terrible race.

Friday Jul 30, 2004 #

orienteering 40:14 [4] 6.2 km (6:29 / km)

Stampede at Plutonic Pleasures.

Thursday Jul 29, 2004 #

orienteering 45:00 [3] 5.0 km (9:00 / km)

Training at Bisbee Hill. Ran a couple of legs with Brad, splitting the route choice.

Wednesday Jul 28, 2004 #

orienteering 36:58 [4] 5.0 km (7:24 / km)

Morning. Ran a course that Alex drew on the Quartz Hill map at the Lake George Community Center. Pretty physical and rocky.

orienteering 55:34 [3] 6.5 km (8:33 / km)

Ran a course that I drew on the N part of teh Lake Manitou map near Woodland Park, CO. This is an area of many many many forested re-entrants. I had trouble here last year at the 1000-day. I had trouble again, but paid a little more attention this time I think. Had lots of trouble finding a small spur, but but kept at it until I was sure. heh - that rhymes!
