State Series @ Glenluce - long distance
I started ok and got the first 3 quite smoothly, passing Jim a couple of minutes at #1, and was surprised to see Evan (-5mins) @ #3. Somehow I lost 1 minute to Bryan over about 800m to #1 - he must have been flying!
I settled in to a good pace going left on the ridge top on the long leg to #4. I was a bit nervous about this as part of my route was under the control description.
The rest of the course was pretty straight forward without too much route choice challenge. Most legs were about 1km long in 2 large clockwise circuits. The hills were not too bad, and I had plenty of energy left at the end. I think that I will need this reserve of energy for next Sunday.
Bryan won the race ahead of me by 2 minutes, and Ian Lawford ran well to be third - one minute down on me.

It was pleasing to win the Bayside Kangaroos Winter Classic for the best overall time of the 3 races. I now join Blair as a 5 time winner of the trophy.
A great weekend of orienteering in fantastic areas. Perfect preparation for next weekend in Tasmania.
