Running 1:09:09 [3] 11.0 km (6:17 / km) +415m 5:17 / km

Easyish hill run over on Red Hill. Wanted to get some good climb in (trying to get the vertical km this week) but also didn't want to push it too much with my knee.

The hill is looking beautiful this time of year with all the green grass and even flowers out, and a nice day to boot. Forgot how nice it can be running in Canberra.

Knee didn't actually feel so bad after I got going but I was very cautious not to push it and it was feeling vulnerable coming down the hills (and even going up) so not ideal :/

Rockclimbing 1:15:00 [3]

Climbing session at Mitchell with Dad. Got some fun roped climbs in before heading up to do abit more bouldering. The roped climbs are very similar style to the ledge, in that they are essentially just boulder problems with ropes. Lots of spinners, and some glass volumes just like that had at the bouldering world champs in Paris ;)

Running 1:00:00 [3] 10.6 km (5:40 / km)

Last track session of the semester :(

Warm up, drills, run throughs.

4x1500m - 5:05, 5:05, 5:03, 4:52

Good session in general. Gunna miss training with the group. Hopefully I can find a good squad in Stawell too! Until January probably time to start focusing on increasing volume in the lead up to the runs in the Christmas break and also to get some endurance that I can convert into speed come January.

Still feeling slight niggles in the knees.

Rockclimbing 1:30:00 [3]

St Peters with Alastair. Got to lead on my new rope. It was awesome (not that there is all that much that a rope can do to be awesome).

Warmed up on a 16 then 19, 21 (overhung), 20 to top and 21 roof on the world cup wall. Then finished up with some bouldering and abit of strength.

Also a pretty substantial ride both there and back particularly with 60m of rope on my back.

Running 1:00:00 [3] 12.0 km (5:00 / km)

Track session with just Byron (and coach Wayne).

Warm up, drills, run throughs.

1km, 2km, 1km, 2km, 1km with rest equal to 2mins per km run. Focus on maintaining a solid speed. Aim was to sit at exactly 3:30 mins/km. First few were a little fast but then the last 2 I was able to get it bang on to the second for every lap (I think it's just coincidence that it was my comfortable "fastish" pace).

Warm down and some stretches.

NOTE: Knee is feeling alright but still not 100%. It was just niggling all night. When I put my finger on the tendon behind the knee and bend/straighten it I can feel a weird kind of grating which isn't there on my other knee. Probably go climbing tomorrow to give it a rest (and because climbing is awesome).

Running 51:59 [3] 11.5 km (4:31 / km)

Run to Tamarama through the burbs via Fred Hollows reserve, then came back along the coast. Pretty awesome looking at the huge swells rolling in and seeing the entirity of Bronte constant white water. Also had a reasonable amount of climb for a city run, 255m.

Surfing 30:00 [3]

Still wasn't sure about my knee so I went surfing with Beanstalk at Manly. Had fun but the waves were far too big for the two of us considering how little we have been surfing in the last 6 months. Arms were well out of practice and just didn't have the endurance to stay out for long. Had to do short bursts from the beach trying to avoid the big sets. Felt like a moron. Would love to have more time to go surfing.
