Mass start at Webster park (Blue - 8.0 km). I planned to run red and picked up a map from the red bin. Even checked that the control descriptions on the map said red. Took off and my map and the clue sheet did not match for 1... punched both options because they were really close together. Got to 2 and the clue sheet was wrong again... Gave up on the clue sheet after that and just ran to the circle. Didn’t really see anyone for the majority of the time so I assumed I had a older version of the map or something. Took it easy as a result. L foot held up way better than expected. Course felt like it was taking forever for 6.8 km mostly on trails. Finished and it turned out I had a blue map with the red clue sheet. Good thing I punched both flags at 1! Too much trail running for my liking, but it was a nice day to be out in the woods.

Really fun course! Pretty clean navigation. Came up the wrong spur to 3. Hesitated attacking 5 and 6. Drifted N on the way to 12. My L foot is still unhappy. Racing 10 h last weekend didn’t help... Feels fine running on even surfaces, but quite painful whenever my weight shifts to the outside of my L foot. Which happens fairly often running through uneven terrain... Kept the pace slow and enjoyed the map. It was a bummer not to be able to run faster because the woods were so nice! Fun day :)
