Orienteering race 1:17:52 [5] 10.5 km (7:25 / km)

Long distance trial at Creswick diggings. Started so badly! lost heaps of time on all of the first 3 controls and nearly called it quits, but gave myself a good talking to and took off up the hill to 4. from control 3 on I had a really good race, and felt really strong to the end... just a pity it wasn't quite long enough to catch up the time I'd lost at the start!

Orienteering race 18:46 [5] 2.9 km (6:28 / km)

Sprint race at monash uni in melbourne. A bit early in the morning for running that fast, and thinking that hard. Tried to go through some doors that wouldn't open on the way to #1. I think I got all the right route choices, it just took me a little longer than it should have to figure them out at times! stuffed up at the end coming out of #10 cos I didn't see the buildings on the map that were covered in out of bounds symbol.

Orienteering race 31:48 [5] 4.4 km (7:14 / km)

Middle distance trial on Petticoat Gully. After a lot of very average runs I really needed at good result, and I certainly did that! I started pretty fast, but didn't take the best route between some of the earlier controls cos I was running too fast to read the map properly, but still hit the controls ok. got things sorted from 4 on, and started running a lot more smoothly between controls. picked up the pace in the open section in the middle of the course (but destroyed my tights running through a thick patch of trees). I was totally wreaked coming up the hill, and nearly lost it on the control after the spectator (went way too low), but relocated quickly enough. Staggered up the hill at the end with very empty legs!
I was really happy with the intensity of running and navigation I managed to maintain through the whole race - definitely one of my best!!

Running 35:00 [5]

anzac park run with rachel. feeling pretty crap and didn't end up running very fast, but it still hurt lots. rachel burnt me on the last couple of hills.

Running 26:00 [4] 6.0 km (4:20 / km)

ran down to the track and did the 5k warm up loop with the guys. been feeling a bit sick all day and spent the whole run struggling not to chuck so decided my training was over after that and went home.

very strange thing happened - I nearly rolled my r ankle but managed to save it, but instead of feeling any pain in my ankle I got a really sharp nerve pain in my r wrist!

Cycling 1:50:00 [3] 53.0 km (2:05 / km)

trolls ride. small group this morning, and not so fast, but suffered greatly. got dropped and cruised the last 3rd with Erica. I think its time to ease back the training a little before next weekend.
