Orienteering race 40:00 [5] 5.1 km (7:51 / km)

Qld middle champs at Bunya. Set by Krystal. I had high expectations of the courses and low expectations of me. The courses were great and I was way better than expected. Krystal had made the most of the most runable part of bunya and while the courses weren't hard, they were definitely turned you around a lot and punished any stray direction.
My hip soreness mysteriously swapped for a different (but easier to run through) hip pain, and while my overall fitness isn't terrible the lack of running made things hurt more than I would have liked. Nav was pretty clean and just tried to keep pushing. It actually felt like I was doing a proper o race instead of just pottering around... been a while!
Turns out Caro and I swapped the lead 6 times over the course, but I faded on the last few hills and she got me by a minute in the end.

Goat track with Rachel and Wendy. Nice morning out but my pre ride toast refused to settle and i had stomach cramps the whole way. That also meant i didn't eat or drink the whole ride so i wasn't in great shape by the end.

Dirt half nebo with Clare. I went to drinks with James's workmates Friday night and it ended up quite late, so i was a bit dusty. Clare sniffed weakness and put the boot in, but then took pity on me and we turned around before the top. Still a good ride and glad i didn't bail.

Mt Alford / Carney's Creek loop with Dan, Dad and Pete. Pretty easy roll for me - Dad's ebike tops out at 30km/hr, Pete isn't very fit and Dan had a 90km warmup ride from Brisbane.
