Orienteering race 45:00 [5]

Easter day 1 at lovely banks. Not a middle course. Still did dumb stuff and lost 3 mins thanks to rubbish compass on 2. Rest was ok but not great. Still fun.

Orienteering race 17:55 [5] 3.0 km (5:58 / km)

Easter sprint at uni of tas in Hobart. Start was tricky and really could have done with adding the map collection point. The course was interesting enough. Only 1.30 behind which is an improvement on recent sprint results.

Cycling 2:53:00 [3] 60.0 km (2:53 / km) +1500m 2:34 / km

Nebo ride. pretty much on my own. I was meant to be helping Dan and James to not kill each other up the first climb of their epic ride, but I was too slow, so just got left behind. Nice ride, but lacking any sort of riding fitness, particularly climbing. Ran in to Michelle and the kids in ashgrove.
Super tired when I got home and slept for 3 hrs instead of having proper breakfast, so felt pretty ordinary after that.

Orienteering 1:10:00 [4]

Sprint intervals at UQ with the cyclones. ran with caroline. did some map memory stuff.... which started with me memorising the wrong control. oops.
Warm up hurt, but it wasn't as bad as I expected. big training day.
Time includes warm up and recoveries.

Training at toohey forest. good course, but tough running and I was slow. got super dehydrated after an hour, and decided to just pick up controls at the end, cos there was no point doing it at walking pace.
Time includes a second control collection attempt - got 21, but it was too dark when I was looking for 22 and never found it.

Easy run out to coro. Promised myself I'd run if it stopped raining. Then it stopped raining, so i ran. Even after it took farking ages to get home thanks to the ed sheeran concert.

Orienteering race 1:33:00 [4] 12.0 km (7:45 / km)

OY at Dalmoak. first bush O for the year, and as rusty as expected. got a way with a fair bit early on with good visibility, but luck ran out after a few controls. Compass was hopeless and I took some pretty wild detours. Also suffered with the heat/distance/wearing o shoes and running in terrain, and nearly/actually? stood on a massive red belly black. going to lose at least one toenail.
Despite all that it was a great course, and dalmoak is always an awesome area to run on. good to get some training in before easter!

Loop from the Katherine hot springs around the walking path loop along the river. the path was 'closed' in some spots due to flood damage, so there were a few detours through the bush. lots of debris in some sections, so didn't see a snake till I was right on top of it, so did the snake dance. quick dip in the top part of the springs afterwards.

Orienteering race 16:53 [5]

NOL sprint relay. First leg for Qld. I was at the back of the pack from the start, but just focused on plodding along as fast as I could. tummy was playing up, so couldn't run hard on the last few legs across the oval.
Krystal got us some good places at the end.

Orienteering race 14:29 [5]

NOL at Kurunjang. another fun course. felt a bit better running this one compared to the rest of the weekend and was only 2mins behind instead of the standard 2.30. km rate was apparently the same as my 5km time.

Monash sprint. NOL #250!
This was fine technically, but I was too tired to run fast, and I didn't want to cook myself for the three races afterwards. fun area and good course.

Orienteering race 18:16 [5]

NOL sprint at Caufield grammar. Really fun area and tricky course. missed the route choice on 13 and had a few other moments of lost contact, but generally pretty good. spent most of the course catching Zoe, but then she smashed me in the finish.

Orienteering race 20:20 [5] 3.9 km (5:13 / km)

Sprint OY at USQ toowoomba. good area and good course. got tricked up a bit by the complicated under the buildings bit, but pretty smooth otherwise. caught mikaela at the end, so had some good motivation to keep running when I was getting tired.

O intervals focusing on short legs. good session, but got really sunburnt.
