Yoga 1:00:00 [2]

warm yoga. power yoga class. I thought the heat was on low, but it turned out the heater in my corner of the room has stopped working.
still a tough class and back will need some more stretching to come good.

Running 36:00 [3]

recovery run around anzac park. very tired and sore to start with, but legs felt a bit better by the end.
today's general goal was to do nothing... very nearly succeeded!

Running long 1:32:00 [3]

long run from my place, with Mark, James and Ian. I was very slow from the start, and never really improved. Not surprising I guess, as I've had a tiring couple of weeks with no running. I'll be back in Brisbane a bit more in the next couple of weeks, so hopefully some more normal training.

Coffee at the bean afterwards was nice, then spent a couple of hours getting dragged around the shops by Dan.

Orienteering race 1:21:21 [5]

NOL long distance at Kangaroo Crossing. I had been really looking forward to this race, but managed to stuff it right from the start. My plan had been to take a slightly low clear route around the hill, but climbed a bit too much early on and ended up in the really thick part of the slope. Got to the right part of this hillside, but too high and took a couple of laps up and down to figure it out. blew 10 mins there, and then a bit more on the next one as I had no confidence in the map, then another couple of minutes doing a lap around 4. The rest of the course was ok, but couldn't get too motivated to run hard after losing so much time early.

Orienteering race 45:36 [5]

NOL at Rowdy Flat. Scrappy run, but not a disaster. Took a while to get into things at the start, and found the map really hard to interpret. the map printing was really poor quality, which was a major issue in such detailed terrain. The other issue I had was that about half the controls didn't really seem to be where the map and control descriptions indicated that they would be. I also found the course layout really annoying - you could set a good course here by just about putting controls anywhere, but we crossed over the same area a few times - the layout on the map was really confusing and difficult to read - I can understand doing this if there is only a small area of good detail on a map, but all really unnecessary in such a good area
Bumbled around and made the best of it, but was a bit underwhelmed by the whole thing.

Orienteering race 1:09:25 [3] 8.8 km (7:53 / km)

woodlands event in Gatton. really nice area since it's dried out and the lantana has died back. the race was two loops and I had a token race against Brenton. mostly good run, steady pace without any real speed, I guess due to being tired after a big week and it being quite hot. turns out all of us threw away time on the same control - a vaguely located termie which we all overshot.

oq agm at the event. no where near as messy as it could have been. round 2 in a month.

Orienteering 27:00 [3]

training at white rock with Wendy, Mark, James, Su Yan and Aiden. We did the training exercises set by Ludvid and Annika for junior squad training a few weeks ago.
Its a really great area, and quite challenging. Nav was pretty rusty and I was really tired. Just tried to pay attention and not orienteer like an idiot.

Running hills 20:00 [5]

Hill intervals on Gower st. first one was good, but then times started to blow out. very tired and struggling to keep running at the top of the climb.
77, 84, 92, 99, 102, 94.

Running warm up/down 25:00 [2]

Yoga 1:00:00 [2]

hot yoga. I seem to have irritated something in my right elbow and it doesn't want to bend. hopefully it settles down soon.

Orienteering 55:00 [3]

training at Cotswold with James before pizza at the block. some control picking and then some longer legs. a little rusty with nav but better than expected running in terrain.
I was a bit demoralised to see how easily James runs through rough terrain - climbing up through lines of cliffs and he just steps up onto a cliff as tall as me!

Running long 1:29:00 [3] 13.1 km (6:48 / km)

long run from my place. surprisingly big group today compared to what I was expecting. Wendy, lance, Mark and Mat, and Clare and Andy for coffee.
the usual coottha route, up toilet block and down frosties.
took ages to warm up today and struggled on the hills, but got going ok on the single track towards the end.

Orienteering race 17:35 [4]

cyclones Sprint at st Paul's at bald hills. really good little area and great course set by Heather.
I had an ok run, but was really tired after the long run and struggled to concentrate on details or run hard.

Running hills 20:00 [5]

Hill intervals on Gower St. It seems that the prospect of running Gower St scared off most people - only Lauren showed up.
6 intervals - 75, 88, 89, 90, 92, 95.
L calf and both hammies were a bit unhappy, but not enough to stop me running.

Running warm up/down 25:00 [2]

Running 35:00 [3]

Anzac park run.

Yoga 1:00:00 [2]

hot yoga. Been ages since I've made it to a class and was really tight. much better now. seems to have really helped the weird tight spots in my calves.
