itb has gone to shit again. really sore in my hip and knee. let's hope lots of ice and anti inflams can get it under control quickly.

Orienteering race 21:03 [5] 3.0 km (7:01 / km)

Sprint O at ANU. Good course, but again struggled to read the map on the run, or run.
Managed to run through an "on the map" garden, and an "on the map" creek, so got disqualified twice. oh well.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [2]

very token warm up and warm down. legs wrecked.

Orienteering intervals 25:00 [5]

map memory intervals at Radford college. great exercise and had some good battles with the other girls in my group.

Orienteering race 22:53 [4] 2.8 km (8:10 / km)

Bush sprint at Remembrance park. didn't have proper o shoes so struggled with the first part of the course up on the hill.
got a bit confused with the run throughs but not as much as others!

Running warm up/down 45:00 [2]

for training and races.

Running race 13:00 [5] 3.0 km (4:20 / km)

Arrived halfway through the sprint camp in Canberra, so started with a 3km time trial. had very low expectations given lack of recent speed work, so made sure not to run too fast and blow up. The first few laps were good - passing many of the juniors who went out too fast. Then a few steady laps in the middle, but tightened up a bit in the last couple of laps. Not as bad as I thought it was going to be!

Running warm up/down 30:00 [2]

warm up for 3k, then warm down games afterwards.

Running warm up/down 40:00 [1]

warm ups and warm downs for training and race, and running drills with Kelly.

Orienteering 20:00 [5]

Sprint intervals at commonwealth park.

Orienteering race 25:38 [5] 3.0 km (8:33 / km)

Sprint race at CSIRO. no legs or brain left for this. pity, as its a great area and I really didn't get a chance to race properly.

Running intervals 12:00 [5]

first interval session since before aus champs. did 6x400 on 2min on the SMT oval. the first few were ok, but my legs just don't have any speed and I really died in the last ones. Times were 89, 88, 90, 95, 100, 99.

did this session as a big storm rolled in. the lightning was very impressive and was lighting up the whole sky, although it started to get a bit close and I was a bit nervous to be out on the oval.
the power has been flicking off a bit since then... I hope it stays on long enough to cook dinner, and watch the tennis!

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Yoga 1:00:00 [2]

hot yoga. first class in a while, very tough!

Sunday Jan 19, 2014 #

Running 1:25:00 [3]

Sunday afternoon run with the chapel hill loop extension. very tired and ploddy, and I think I was a bit over cooked for most of this.

Saturday Jan 18, 2014 #

walk 4:00:00 [0]

Bush walk and canyoning through burnett creek gorge with Dad, James and Kate. Great day out!

Thursday Jan 16, 2014 #

Running 53:00 [3] 10.0 km (5:18 / km)

run home from work

Note

sore calves and weird blisters under my toes.

Sunday Jan 12, 2014 #

Running 1:10:00 [3] 10.0 km (7:00 / km)

had to drive up to chinchilla cos I've got an early start for work tmw. took a detour via the bunya mountains. I ran the loop from the main picnic area. I'd thought it was about 15k, the map said it was about 12k but it only just made 10. I was still pretty tired from yesterday so short was ok.
very nice run in the rainforest.

Running long 1:45:00 [3]

long run from lance and Wendy's. they both even ran! Katelyn, Clare and Ian also ran, Mark missed our run but turned up later and Mat turned up for breakfast.
Very slow start and low expectations for this run but got going and even did a little extra bit at the end.

Running 55:00 [3] 10.0 km (5:30 / km)

run home from work. I'm still really tired after some hot field days at the start of the week and the run felt very slow and ploddy - was pleasantly surprised to find that it wasn't actually that slow. itbs were quite tight when I got home and needed lots of time on the roller.

I think I still have some recovering to do from the cold I got in thailand. lots of sleep needed this weekend!

Running 35:00 [3]

first run of the year, with Clare in Anzac park. slow, as it was still stinking hot. took about 2hrs to stop sweating afterwards.
