Last run before the end of the world.

Training has been a massive fail this week, but decided that work was a very low priority today and went for a plod around anzac park in the morning. Turns out that running in the morning is a bit shit for me on any day, and that saturday morning crappiness is mainly due to it being morning.

Very humid out - very cloudy and raining lightly. Time includes stopping to chat to Heidi about our upcoming NZ holidays and stopping at the chin up bar for some very pathetic attempts at hauling my bodyweight against the considerable forces of gravity.

Circuit training (fridge moving) 15:00 [5]

Dan decided that he wasn't going to put up with trekking to the garage every time we need something out of the fridge, and therefore we were going to move it upstairs. the fridge is quite large, and weighs approximately 10,000 kg. First plan was to have me on the trolley and dan doing the lifty bit, and we got it up one flight of stairs, with me being repeatedly squished under the trolley and fridge. then we swapped and dan had to do the hard bit.
Now we have a fridge in the kitchen. Yay!

Was amused to see the guy in unit one (next to the stairs) carefully avoiding noticing the heavy lifting going on outside.

Orienteering intervals 30:00 [4]

Sprint O intervals in Roma St and the Grammar schools, set by Wendy. Got stuck at work so missed the start, then had some dramas when Mark and I got chased out of BGS by a grumpy groundsman.
We then did a re-run of the Roma St course that Mark had already done. I was meant to be racing Mark, but I seemed to pick terrible route choices, so I'd get to each control to find him sitting on a park bench waiting. Turns out my time for the whole course was the same as he'd run the first time, so not so bad. Some interesting running through the garden area in the middle of the park which was infested with enormous bearded dragons. Mark stood on one, but I got through without incident.
Saw a B-double lying on its side on the drive home.

Christmas run from Bombana to Jollys lookout. nice flat run in the rainforest to sweat out my mild hangover from the work xmas party. awesome bbq breakfast afterwards.

Orienteering intervals 1:00:00 [4]

Sprint o intervals at Roma St and the Grammer schools. A few problems with the maps, they were made in 2009 but only used once due to access issues, so a little out of date now. Awesome area and tricky courses. We did a mass start re-run of one long leg and it turned out that none of us had picked up the best option first time around. Will definitely be using this area for training again.

Easy run with Lance and Clare. Felt nice and strong and did this run 5 mins quicker than last week (when I was feeling awful).

Easy run in Anzac park with Lance. Still very hot and breathing was a bit harsh to the throat.

Running long 1:27:00 [3]

Long run from Rachel's. Started out slow, and was out the back for the big climb up south boundary rd, but gradually came good. Mostly ran with Clare and Katelyn due to my initial lack of pace, but would have like to have been with the faster group for the later parts of the run. Felt really strong for the last 30mins, and did some surges up the hills coming back along south boundary.

Orienteering race 28:00 [5]

Park O at Robelle Domain, springfield. Great area out at springfield, with plenty of detail for a good sprint race.
Had a good race, and felt pretty strong running. Tried out my new shoes x-lite 135s and they were really fast, except for on patches of rough ground, cos they have no grip at all. Happy to have a good run, and only 2mins behind Rachel.
