Orienteering race (Aus sprint champs) 15:46 [5] 2.2 km (7:10 / km) +30m 6:43 / km

Good area but never got into this. Running slowly, but navigating slower - not making quick decisions and picked a few wrong route choices.
Combination of lack of fitness and fatigue, and not having done any sprint races or training in months.

Orienteering race (Aus middle champs) 42:42 [5] 5.1 km (8:22 / km) +230m 6:50 / km

Started with low expectations and had no idea how the foot would hold up. also super tired after three massive weeks at work.

The course was quite good, and an interesting use of the area. some dead running legs but I think that would have been hard to avoid. Started a little scrappy with a small miss on 2, but then got going ok until the control after the spectator. After the long drag up the hill I was completely brain dead and inverted the contours of the slope going down to 19. sorted it out, but not before I'd lost too much height. lost 2:45 here and went from a quite ok run to a really bad one.

Orienteering (mapping) 1:00:00 [0]

crazy afternoon - we were one tile short for the kitchen splashback, so I needed to do a quick run to the tile shop before it closed. this meant that I could fit in some field work for the map update of rainbow forest... which then stole my potential training time.
office clothes and shoes weren't particularly pleased with their outing to a muddy park.

Orienteering race (qld middle champs) 31:50 [5] 5.0 km (6:22 / km)

A bit worried about how I would go given lack of fitness as I knew it was stupid fast terrain, but decided the goal was have a technically good run and just keep running as hard as I could. had a little wobble to 2 where the vegetation was badly mapped and the rocks didn't make much sense - turned out they were under the control line. The rest was fine - just my poor unfit body couldn't handle the pace. massive hurt, and hips seized up afterwards.
great area and definitely worth the drive up.

extra bonus - foot was completely fine and haven't felt it since. maybe things are properly improving.

Orienteering warm up/down 45:00 [2]

warm up, warm down and control collection. struggled towards the end of control collection with tendonitis in both hips.

Swim 35:00 [3] 1.5 km (23:20 / km)

I feel like I'm starting to get the hang of this swimming thing now. I think I worked out another stroke improvement - how to better engage lats and core. it definitely felt faster.

Yoga 1:00:00 [2]

hot yoga. the class was only half full, but this stupid yoga-poser put her mat about 5cm from mine at the start, which irritated me straight off. eventually she moved. but then she couldn't actually do any of the moves. she'd have some half assed attempts at a few things, but eventually just gave up and lay on the mat.

Orienteering 1:30:00 [1]

putting out and collecting controls at Brightview for relay training. Foot feels good and strong running which was great, but still not awesome the rest of the time. Not sure what is going on. Another week off it and I'll have another run next weekend at the middle champs.

Cycling intervals (Spin) 1:00:00 [5]

Connie's spin class, with Clare and a few others. paced it a bit better than last week at the start, but still stupid hard.

Swim 40:00 [3] 1.5 km (26:40 / km)

Swim at Centenary pool. This was way less awful than last week. Made it 50% further and didn't have to stop at the end of each lap to recover. Even made it out of the slow lane after a couple of laps.
