Sri Chinmoy multisport @ Yerrabi ponds - 2nd solo

Good fun, dynamic and close racing including an EPIC battle with Fat Rat which saw me hold him off by 10secs at the end of the final run.

First run always fast but v happy to be only ~20secs off the leaders. perhaps pushing a bit hard but felt good. Everyone was close together in the paddle. I took the lead early in the first lap but was caught by the over 50 solo dude with Gary Rolfe in a team on his wake at the end of the 2nd lap and came in with them.

Epic leg failure getting out of my boat. just v wobbly after running so hard and jumping straight in for a paddle. Took me a sec to regaine my composure and head off on the ride. Overtook the older guy in the first km but eventual winner Rowan came past at the same time and he looked on an absolute mission with tri bars on his mtb and all. Was struggling to get the body into top gear and decided to ride at my own pace and try to settle in. Ben wasnt that far behing at the turn around and clearly on a good ride. At this stage thought I had enough of a buffer on everyone to hold 2nd especially if I could open up the legs a bit on the 2nd half of the ride.

Last run always a bit of a struggle for me. Across the dam in the first km I could see Ben just running onto it so I prob only had about 90secs. he kept getting closer and closer. really I had it in the bag and just wanted to give him false hope he could catch me :)

Pretty glad to survive the old boys chase. Another km and I would've been in big trouble!!

Great fun morning with delicious pancakes in the sun after
