MTB 8:30 [2] 2.5 km (3:24 / km)

Down to the track and home again

WARM UP/DOWN 10:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Pegasus #1

Pry to the 1500

ATHLETICS race 4:49 [5] 1.5 km (3:13 / km)
ahr:161 max:167

Thought that as training has been going well this week, I would do another 1500, missed out in being in the faster heat, but still got beaten, and ended up doing exactly the same time as Tuesday. Very muggy conditions

WARM UP/DOWN 20:00 [3]

Nice warm down up the creek and around the oval

ATHLETICS race 10:36 [3] 3.0 km (3:32 / km)
ahr:164 max:175

Decided to do the 3k, Leon had come down to try to do 9.15, or a little quicker. He and Bryan soon left me behind, and I realised that at the pace I was going, I could get the bell in 9.13, so I tried to encourage leon to catch me, but be just missed out. Fairly happy with how I went, 2 races in one day, and I had survived. Conditions had changed to being hot

ROAD BIKE 1:01:30 [3] 28.0 km (2:12 / km)
shoes: Nike Bike shoes #1

Nice roll around with my Sister, out around OTH, back blocks of Strath, McIvor Hwy, Mayfair Estate and home. Weather had changed again to being on the cool side.

RUN 1:25:00 [3] 17.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Pegasus #1

Got going early, well not that early, but before B/F. SG Rd, to the res, then did the YM run from Sunday mornings, came back through the DH map and over the top of the hill, and home via Faugh-a-Balagh. Happy enough with the distance I covered

MTB 20:00 [2] 6.7 km (2:59 / km)
shoes: Nike Bike shoes #1

Nice easy roll around in the evening, via Houston and Sharon St, then Aths track and home, very muggy

Wednesday Dec 12, 2007 #

ROAD BIKE 1:26:30 [3] 42.7 km (2:02 / km)
shoes: Nike Bike shoes #1

Shortened Gooseneck back via tannery lane. Decided to pick up the cadence a little, did the whole ride in 5th from the top, I think I sat on 85 rpm average

RUN 20:00 [2]

Bit sore from the last 2 days. But having left my wallet in the my car, which I left at the nursery when I picked up the truck, decided that I had better run to Houston St to get a loan. Got tea as well, what a bargain, Bit of a struggle home with a belly full (-_-)

MTB 55:00 [2] 13.5 km (4:04 / km)
shoes: Nike Bike shoes #1

Very easy ride up DH, SG Oval, then walking track up OTH to channel track, followed channel track till Edwards Rd then home via Sharon and Houston St

WARM UP/DOWN 15:00 [3]

Ran down to the track and warmed up for the 1500

ATHLETICS race 4:49 [5] 1.5 km (3:13 / km)

Got drafted into the 40+ 1500m relay team as the guys wanted to beat the other club that had a good team, didn't have high hopes about what I could do, as I have yet to do any speed work, or much training at all for that matter, but if the rest of the team wanted me there, who was I to argue.

I knew that back last year, I had the measure of the other teams last leg runner over 5k, but this was 1500m and a year on. I got the baton with a lead of 20m, 2 laps in and the gap was much the same, then with a lap to go he was moving up on me, but I knew he would have to move quicker if he was going to get me, 300 to go and I could hear him, back straight was OK as I went into the final bend, he took me out with 100 to go, so I dropped in behind for a sec, then out and around and back to the lead. Got him just in a very close finish, didn't know I had that good a kick in me (-:

WARM UP/DOWN 15:00 [3]

Up the creek and back to the track with my team and the girls team who broke the old record by 2mins, got a lift home

Note

The club had drafted Leon into the open team to try to get the record, 1st 1500 went well, (leon 4.19), then Damien got around well just to be stood up on the change over as the 3rd leg runner thought he was doing the 4th leg, Damien had to wait 2 mins+ while josh (3rd Leg) got to the change over. Talk about not being organised
