A small warm up

ORIENTEERING ◪ race (Vic Relays) 40:09 [5] 7.61 km (5:17 / km)
shoes: INOV-8 Talon 212 #1

Last leg for the Bendigo 2nd team

Ev had to pull out of the 1st team, so we drafted Dave up, then I went looking for another team mate for Schepisi and Myself, found a bloke called De Haas who thought he could do the job.

Didn't do to bad either, came in in 2nd, a minute behind MFR's Kerrin Rattray, just were you need him to be. Matt had a great race, and sent me out in 1st place, but not that far in front of Bruce (MFR), who blew pass me on the way to the 1st control.

I hung on for dear life, but there is only so much I could do at my current fitness. Lost sight of Bruce on the long leg to 7, was going along not-to-bad, but as I was looking for my last, saw Keely crossing the spur towards the finish (he still had 2 controls to get), got a little nervous, but found it, and got going. Managed to hold Bryan out by 29secs, who I think ran the fastest time of the day.

Not a good weekend as results go, got run down twice in 2 races, but was a good weekend as far as the achilles goes, as it stood up very well

RUN warm up/down 5:00 [3] 1.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Pegasus 27

Didn't want to do to much, as haven't run much lately, and this was going to be a test to see if I could run 3 days in a row
3 PM

RUN race (Sandown Relays) 24:13 [5] 6.2 km (3:54 / km)
shoes: Lunar Racer

The 1st of 2 relay races for the weekend.

Ran the last leg for the old blokes team, Ian got us of to a cracker, 21:28, then Victor, 24:18, and we were still leading, but with 250 m to go, someone went pass me, but he didn't have any number on his back (Your meant to wear back and front age/division numbers)

I looked at him and thought, maybe I should cover, he also looked over 40, so could easily be. Then he started to look over his shoulder, and I knew he had to be, but I couldn't do anything about it. We came 2nd by 7 secs, bit dark about this other team not playing the game, but I couldn't have beaten him anyway

BTW, Buster ran 17:34

RUN 20:00 [3] 4.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: INOV-8 Talon 212 #1

Easy run through Solomon Gully and home through the cemetery.
Achilles is good, but some sensation in the heel that is uncomfortable, more ice, exercises and taping will do the trick

RUN 30:00 [3] 6.0 km (5:00 / km)

Up at Undera/St Germains doing maintenance on the Maize sowing equipment meant that my run was back to a old stamping ground for me, out and back to Trevaskis Rd.

Never liked it then, still dont, but had to go to check the strapping. All good, some sensation in heel, but so much better, will race twice this weekend (:

RUN 43:47 [3] 5.9 km (7:25 / km)
shoes: INOV-8 Talon 212 #1

My achilles was in a very bad way yesterday, had to go to the Physio.

Got to see Amy, who told me I had to tape my ankles, even did them for me, today I ran with NO pain, it is SOOOOOO good.

Did the Ballarat local event on Nerrina, there is nothing bad about the Bendigo event on One Tree Hill, but how can you turn down a event on Nerrina.

Was so surprised that once I started, that the achilles felt so good, so ran a little harder, that my fitness, or lack of it was catching up with me, held on to finish alright. Dave was in the same minute as I, but in front.

Drove back to Bendigo, attended the Local event, but no running, then once that was packed up, headed around the corner to my Aths Club for a sausage or 2, packed up there and went home.

And after all that, my ankle/achilles is feeling that good, I could run tomorrow, but I will have to hold myself back (-:

Out to KG, checked some of the single track that PPL went astray on in the latest MTBO, there is no doubt they knew what they were up to, cheating, and not telling the truth now. 2 wrongs don't make a right.

Now early afternoon, temperature still below 7, and 12mm rain, glad I did this early

MTB race 1:47:41 [5] 32.27 km (3:20 / km)
shoes: Nike Bike shoes #1

Got a early start, as everything was running early.

Missed the obvious route choice at 18.5k - 20k, should have gone out to the bitumen. Also cocked up at 23k, the control was on the other single track, only 20m away, but no track in between, had to go a extra k to get to it.

Won by 4 secs, nearly as close as the Mens Sprint final at WOC tonight

ORIENTEERING ◪ 1:00:00 [3]

Put out 12 controls for the Secondary Schools selection Trial, then ran around the rest, as I hadn't been to them before, and as controller, I should.

The Achilles was a different story to yesterday, shouldn't have done 2 days running in a row, 1 day I will learn. Another week of rest
