MTB 55:00 [3] 17.5 km (3:09 / km)
shoes: Nike Bike shoes #1

Legs were more tired than I first thought, so kept it a little shorter.

Up to DH, then onto KG, then did the YM Sunday run in the other direction, back down SG Crk to home
12 PM

RUN 20:00 [2]
shoes: Nike Terrain

Put out controls for a School O session, and bought them back in.

Sunday May 30, 2010 #

RUN long 1:30:00 [3] 18.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Terrain

YM run with the lads, was out the front a bit for a start, then realised that everyone else had run the Sandown 10k yesterday, so were nursing tired legs.
Did a bit extra at the end to go to 90 mins

Saturday May 29, 2010 #

9 AM

RUN 20:00 [3]

Put out a few controls
1 PM

ORIENTEERING ◪ race 55:00 [3]
shoes: INOV-8 Roclite 285-1

Would like to have started earlier, but let things get in the way. Got to the start, and realised that I had no compass, not that I use one much, but as the tracks weren't on the map, it would be useful. Missed the 2nd, cos I ran along one og those unmapped tracks, this caused me to head of on the wrong angle for the 3rd, which I screwed big time.
Toph caught me here, so I kept him honest over the next few, taking a couple of splits from him, lost direction to the next, and enthusium from then on.
Well beaten by Toph
3 PM

RUN 30:00 [3] 6.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: INOV-8 Roclite 285-1

Went to the Club run, but I knew I was late, as the Orienteering had taken longer than planned.
Ran the course as a warm down
4 PM

Note

Went back to the Orienteering event on the way home, pack up had just finished. Looks like we have had our first lose with the SI equipment, somebody took to a SI unit with a stick, smacked it up a bit. Dont think it will work again.
Also, missing a hire SI stick, should be able to find out who 'kept' it by checking the start list, but maybe not.
Toph found a SI stick while racing, lucky for the person who dropped that one

ROAD BIKE 20:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Bike shoes #1

Hadn't done much latley, and being a softy, I wasn't going out in the rain, so rolled the legs over on the wind trainer (-:

7 PM

RUN 35:00 [3] 7.4 km (4:44 / km)
shoes: Nike Pegasus #1

Down the lake with the crew, Ev and Richard were there, at last, but no Leon, Bryan, and even James was missing. Bit of moisture around, so they must be fair weather players.

Didn't want to do to much, and the tireness in the legs soon told me, 'no reps' so Toph and I did a easy 5 laps

Monday May 24, 2010 #

5 PM

MTB 20:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Bike shoes #1

Up the ridge to DH. Just after turning for home, I got a flat,and as it had started to rain, and it was dark, I decided to walk home. My fingers wouldn't have handled trying to change a trye )-;

WALK 40:00 [3]

Pushed the bike back home

ORIENTEERING ◪ race (Balt Camp) 53:46 [4] 8.8 km (6:07 / km)
shoes: INOV-8 Roclite 285-1

State series event, Was hard to see the flags, but it helped if you are near by (-: Went down the wrong spur to 2, then couldn't see 3, went to far to the left on 4, wasn't happy how I did 5, then I settled down a bit, and didn't rush things.

Got done by Bryan, Blair, and the local favourite, Morten. Was very nice out, area offers a different challenge to what we normally get around Bendigo

ORIENTEERING ◪ race (Balt Camp) 13:38 [5] 2.6 km (5:15 / km)
shoes: INOV-8 Roclite 285-1

Southern Cross Relay

Kathryn ran the 1st leg, and bought us back with the pack, Bryan (Fabian Hertner) then went for broke, and gave me (Thierry Georgiou) a insurmountable lead, so I cruised around for a easy victory

Interesting looking at the splits of our team, Kathryn got the 1st 3 splits, Bryan the next 3, and I was fastest over the last few.

2 PM

ORIENTEERING ◪ race (Mt Korong) 44:40 [5]
shoes: INOV-8 Roclite 285-1

West Inglewood Middle Distance Championships

Some how came away with a win, all the likely candidates were there, but they all had more trouble out there than I did.

Saw Julie at 3, then Roch at 4/5, but Roch got back pass at 8, caught up to Clara at 10, and she was still in front at 11, was clean through 12/13/14, got caught out by the cliffs at 15, then saw Toph as I ran through to 19, some how caught him at 20, but missed the last, so he got away from me.

ORIENTEERING ◪ 1:34:00 [3]
shoes: INOV-8 Roclite 285-1

Was the 2nd starter, and the fog was still in. Took my glasses, as I had trouble yesterday, but they cant help, if the features aren't printed on the map. Stuck it out to the end, no real time loses, just bumbling around, cos the map was no &*^#% good

ORIENTEERING ◪ 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: INOV-8 Roclite 285-1

Some reason the GPS stopped, and started again, so here is the 2nd half of the course

ORIENTEERING ◪ race 19:17 [5]
shoes: INOV-8 Talon 212 #1

Was going alright, then Jules and Ecmo turned up, so decided to get a wriggle on, kept Jules out for the next control, then let him go, and had a battle with Eric, he won.

Note. Something strange happened to my GPS trace, I ended up in Chad

RUN warm up/down 20:00 [3]

With Bruce, Lachlan and Simon. Tried to work out what we had in common. 1st thought is we are all Sth Aussies, but no to Simon. Turns out the common thread is we all dont live in the State we were born in
2 PM

ORIENTEERING ◪ race 1:00:18 [4]
shoes: INOV-8 Roclite 285-1

Got of to a reasonable start, then missed 7, Shep came through, then I cocked up 10, and made a mess of 12. Started to lose confidence, and started to be to careful, cant afford to do that

RUN 1:17:00 [3] 15.0 km (5:08 / km)

Good to see Dave B back again, but no Toph, was he sleeping in?

RUN 1:40:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Terrain

Normal Sunday morning run, good group of younger guys there, dBirch, Dave Brownridge & Toph. Run was good, and I felt good enough to do extra, so ran to the top of OTH as well, good to get up to the 100 min mark again

Sounds like there was a little bit of fun and games after the run at Jells yestie. The 22 seater bus did a clutch, so they used the 11 seater bus to ferry PPL to the train, then got on the road themself. Got back to Bendigo about 9, how come all the fun happens when I'm not there.

ORIENTEERING ◪ race (Ironman @ Fiddlers Green) 50:00 [4] 8.6 km (5:49 / km)
shoes: INOV-8 Talon 212 #1

4 races, each about 2k long RouteGadget

Race 1, Easy course, tried to use this as the warm up, never works

Race 2, Hard course, Did this one well, till the last 2. They, and the finish all overlapped each other, was happy that I out did James and Toph through this area, but I missed one, by the time Invis convinced me that I may have left one out, the others had worked it out, so didn't get the result that I thought I had

Race 3, Moderate course, Had Dave under control, but Toph got through on the 2nd last by taking the other (and better) route.

Race 4, Hard course, Told Dave to run with me, then see if he had a kick at the end, turned out he had, so he bet me. Tried to be to clever on the way to the 1st, from then on, I was trying to catch up. Cant do that on a 2k race

RUN 20:00 [3]
shoes: INOV-8 Talon 212 #1

Picked up a few controls
