ORIENTEERING ◪ race 1:05:42 [5] 9.1 km (7:13 / km)
shoes: Teva #2

Garmin 10.65k. Good fun event, started of with a 5 control score course, then back to pick up map 2. I got the same split as Dave from the start, and we were 1st back, so 1st out on the A loop, caught up to Dion at 10, Captian Melville at 11, Clara at 14, then I tried to lead everyone astray on the way to 15, they followed, silly people. Leon caught up on the way to 16, so I knew it was going to be very hard for me to win A, he was fast but just scappy enough for me to stay in contact through to 21, dave was still sitting in waiting his chance, I tried to go around the green on 22, but gave it away and tried to get back on Leon, a slight miss, and a slack exit from the last gave me a slimmer of hope, so as he went around the hill, I kicked in over the top, he had me, but then he took the walking track, so I went again hard out to the bitumen Rd and went for it, but Leon cruised throught the car park and got me by 20m. Very happy with my race today, that is apart from 15 )-;

ORIENTEERING ◪ race 1:27:00 [4] 11.3 km (7:42 / km)

Took the soft option (road) to 1, through to 3 OK, then lost time on the way and at 4, got caught by Simon, we stayed together till 12, then went different ways to 13, got him by 2 mins, bit scrappy on 15 but it turned out Simon was much worse, caught upto Dave at 16 and stayed together to the finish. Lost 4 mins to Bruce on 4 and 15? Good race and felt fine, should be good for the coming weeks, contact was alright, but still needs getting use to

ORIENTEERING ◪ tempo 1:12:00 [3] 8.6 km (8:22 / km)
shoes: Teva #2

Putting out the SI and flags at Kooyoora. Thought I got it done with time to spare, but when I got back to the car, the 1st punters were allready there. New record for a Bendigo Local event, 122 starters. Help by a number of Melb Orienteers up here for tomorrows State event

PS Tried out the 1 contact idea, might get use to it. Good to be able to read the map on the run, even if my long vision is a little fuzzy

ORIENTEERING ◪ tempo 20:00 [3]
shoes: Teva #2

Bringing in controls etc, and searching for the last competitors. As always, when you organise a search, they turn up just as you start

ORIENTEERING ◪ 1:40:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Zoom

Went into town to finalise a few things, got a appointment with the Optometrist for 1645, and I still had to get to Kooyoora, so home I went, worked out the controls to get in the car, had something to eat and headed of. Haven't run this hard putting out controls in along while, got them all done and time to get back to Bendigo for the appointment. Aren't we lucky that Kooyoora is close enough to Bendigo that we can nick up there for the afternoon, lovely day to be out there as well, hope it will be just as nice on Saturday
