running 20:00 [2]

Running over to Morgan Firestone for the training.

orienteering - General 1:40:00 [3]

Training with Tomas and Alex. Thanks Alex for setting it up. Did 3 O-tervals and then did part of the course running together. The crust of ice on top of the snow got to a point where I decided to walk down the hills.

running 1:30:00 [3]

Ran from my dad's house over to the conservation area, kept a faster pace once on the trails and did a few kilometers of terrain running. The sun decided to stop lighting my way half way through the run so decided it was about time I ran back. Once on roads again took it easy cooling down.

orienteering - General 26:10 [3]

Christmas course around Dundas, the challenging part was finding the required things at the control (ex. How many Candy Canes on the lawn?). Would have helped if I had noted the exact feature the control was on and not the few it was around. Ran the beginning pretty hard but slowed down for the last quarter to really get flow, flipping over my map to read the question and so on which took down the speed. Took it easy after the 12th control, which I spent a minute looking for the right sign.

Up the spur, crossing the first trail, at the second one taking the trail that comes off it further up the hill and following it around. To the right of the trail there is going to be more space before the drop and when the cliff is close again and field to right cut off the trail on bearing looking up(or down in this case) for the large trees and thick vegetation/undergrowth to pull me into the cliffs beneath it.

Went right taking the slower route where you actually leave the trail. Didn't ever considered the faster all trail route further from the line ....this is starting to become a pattern

running 30:56 [2] 4.16 km (7:26 / km)

Forest running throughout scenic woods plus a bit on the main trail to get there. I thought I was running pretty fast through the forest ...then I realized I was doing a solid 8 min/km pace

running 10:00 [2]

Another 10 mins after my watch stopped, mainly road but cut into the forest for around a quarter of it.

Straight forward trail running through the first forested section but I never really considered the trail to the right and ran a similar distance through the open field. Took the right trail out of the final two since I could catch myself on the river and pull myself into the control ...which turned out to be control 11 afterwards

Went left, would have lost some time running along the stream rather then taking the trail the slightly longer distance.
