orienteering - General 14:42 [4]

I'm pretty happy with my race today. I ran a clean race, other then my compass bearings which I kept ending up a good distance to the right. I will try and take more time tomorrow doing my compass bearings. My goal for the race was to look for big features (buildings, large trees, etc) in the distance and also simplify. I felt I did this well other then a few legs. Also need to work on running harder in the middle of the race.

Ran from home to an easy run/follow line course, walked about two hundred meters to the start of it. However the original map became a lot more confusing due my printer running out blue ink. So once or twice it was a bit tricky reading what was high and low without the streams (having a compass would have also helped), and also a lot of the small open fields I was reading turned out to be green forest (which was more just frustrating trying to get through the thorns). Other then that it was a lot more fun just going for a run. Also thanks for the line-O Hans/Sudden.

orienteering - General (X-league (Score-O)) 27:10 [4]

The race went alright today, I completely forgot my goals when I started and didn't remember till the end. I'll make sure I remember Friday. Other than that my map folding wasn't too great, I need to make sure I fold my map going into the control and also I need to be a bit quicker with my bearings. Also need to remember to simplify and make good attack points this weekend. My legs were sore at the end, most likely because I didn't stretch after Saturday.

Long easy run, 2 km in I did a warm up. Ran from my dads so I ran down to the chedoke stairs doing a set and continued on to the james st stairs where I did another set and also did the dundern stairs on the way there. Then ran straight back.
